Cheating
Why are you always so suspicious?  Lance asked him one morning.

His face was calm, but his eyes were distressed and angry.    Give me one reason why I shouldnt be, he said.

Ive never done anything wr-

He cut Lance off sharply.  Right.  Youve never done anything right.  And we both know this, Lance.

Lance sat at the kitchen table, across from him, quietly, the color draining from his face.  How can you say that?   All Ive ever done is love you.  How can that be so wrong?

He stood up quickly then, emotion finally breaking through the cool faade.  Lance shrank back.
Love me?  Oh God!  How can you sit there and say that?  But screwing around behind my back is okay because anyway, you love me!

Oh JC!  How can you--- how did you--- oh God!  Lance exclaimed in a surge of surprise, grief, and anger.

Of course I know, JC said, looking down at him.  He turned to walk away.  He took a few steps towards the door that led to the garage.  He stopped and said,  Im going now.  Please tell me you want me to.

Lance started to cry.  JC shook his head disgustedly.  Please, JC, please stay.

And to think, JC said slowly, his back still to Lance,  that after all this time, I still thought you were only mine.  He walked through the door and into the garage, leaving a sobbing Lance behind.
