HISTORY/BIOGRAPHY BACKGROUND
Thirty five years ago, Jun Nagase came to San Francisco from Japan. With his partner, they opened and ran one of the largest, most successful hair replacement centers in San Francisco. However, Jun continued to search for ways to improve the product that they developed.
He felt the only way he could experience what his client experiences was to be a client. So, Jun shaved an area of his hair and was fitted for a custom hair replacement. From that experience, he was able to address his client's concerns and produce not just a non-detachable hair replacement but a comfortable and easily maintained hair replacement as well.
Realistic skin bases made from a plaster cast of the client's own head was only the first step. From there, Jun sought a more believable hair fiber. Most of the human hair available comes from Asian women. The problem with this hair is that it fades in the sun and a woman's hair is thicker than a man's. Then this hair has to be stripped of its color and re-dyed to produce all of the colors needed to make a custom blend for each and every client. This both damages the hair and creates a non-stable result in that a color can never be replicated to a 100% match each time that it is dyed and blended. A better blend, with a more stable color could be had with latest synthetics available.
With a natural, comfortable and realistic base, and hair fiber matched to the client's own color, density and thickness, a new age in hair replacement was born. To add to the ease and care of the product, they developed a roll-on adhesive that gave a more secure hold and a natural feel.
Now, after more than thirty years and dozens of improvements, Jun continues to develop and enhance his product.
