I have done my B.Tech in Civil Engineering (2005) from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University(more commonly known as IT-BHU),Varanasi, India.
IT-BHU gave me a lot of things....First and the foremost,my Engineering degree..bread earner for me...Next comes the whole lot of friends.They have been with me for last four years,sharing my bliss as well as woes.I earnestly hope that this camaraderie is maintained for all coming years to come.
I need to tell something about varanasi,my home away from home for four years.Though you can find every details about Varanasi over internet,this is my version.
Few special things about Varanasi for those who haven't been to Varanasi earlier:
>BHU.(I'm a BHUite folks,so i had to place it at top.Jokes apart,it is picturesque.)
>Vishwanath Temple(Probably the sole reason for the floating population of Banaras).
>Sarnath.
>Banarsi Paan
>For Ladies:Banarsi Saree
>Thandai( u can have it with Bhaang as well to feel as if you are GOD)
>Pehalwaan Dhaba ki Rabri and Lassi as well as Chachi ke Kachori(These two delicacies you will find near BHU at Lanka...don't worry folks,u won't need a visa to go to Lanka.)
>And Please don't forget to watch the sunrise at Assi Ghaat and evening Aarti at Dasaswamedh Ghat.
Trivia:what makes the name Varanasi?
Answer:It is at the confluence of two rivers,Varuna and Assi.That makes some sense,right!
But the thing is that English came after hindi...So what's the logic for BANARAS!
