Modified Design and Manufacturing of an Electric Car

Abstract

   The project involves the modification of an existing electric vehicle, designed and manufactured as an B.Sc. project the last academic year (2000/2001). The main modifications in the existing system are in the electric drive system (addition of a variable speed controller), redesign and manufacturing of body and chassis, adding a hand brake system, and a centrifugal clutch. Also, adding a Battery charging system. A feasibility  study of the existing vehicles and components in the local and international markets is made in order to decrease the total cost of the vehicle.
