How to fix 7210/6610/6100/7250/7250i/6220 low speaker volume problem
I personally don't understand why Nokia have to change the good old speaker they used for many years! It is loud and produce quality sound!

On the right of the photo, is the good old speaker used in 8310 and older phones. On the left is the new speaker Nokia uses in all new color phones. With this new speaker, I can't hear what people are saying in the phone when I am working outdoor, specially when I am in a busy street!
I have tested 7210, 6610, 7250, 6100 and the latest 6220. They all have the same problem, i.e low speaker volume and poor sound quality (sounds like a broken speaker)!
I have returned my 6610 to Nokia for 4 times and they can't change the fact that this is the design problem and nothing they can do to fix it!
OK, lets see what I can do to make it better:
1) You need a sponge from a cable, they used it to protect the pins.

2) Cut the sponge into half and make it thinner.

3) Open the housing of your phone. I am using 6220 in this example. Place the sponge on the speaker position, and fix it in place by using some glue as shown in photo below. This is to create a "tunnel effect" and keep all the sound directly transmit to your ear.

4) Don't worry about the extra thickness, after closing the hosuing for few hours, it will create a shape to fit the phone body perefectly as shown below.

With this little trick, I can increase 20% - 30% speaker vloume for my 6220 and even T39mc.
Try it, and it woks, if it is not, nothing to lose :P
