If you read the news at all, you probably know that Colombia is a very troubled nation which has been fighting a terrible civil war (as if war is ever not terrible) for many years. It was our huge privilege to minister about 80% of our time in Colombia in military settings-to many of the soldiers involved in this war.
One day in particular, our director wanted to see if he could get us on a helicopter ride on one of the special forces bases. Instead we ended up doing a quick set-up and concert inside one of the helicopter hangars. The concert was dedicated to a group of soldiers who had been killed a month before in a guerilla ambush. It was so awesome to be able to share the hope and peace of Christ with these people whose futures are so uncertain.
