| Our experience adopting Cathryn was so wonderful, we knew immediately that we wanted to adopt from China again. This past fall, our desire to begin the process became very strong. After much prayer, we decided to begin again, a few months earlier than we had originally planned. One reason for this is that because so many more families are adopting from China these days, people wait much longer for a referral. We completed our adoption of Cathryn in just under a year. However, we are expecting this adoption to take 16 months or longer! |
| Adoption Timeline for Baby Sister December 15, 2000: Submitted request to INS for approval to adopt a foreign child. January 2001: Completed homestudy and other paperwork. March 2001: All our paperwork is complete, but we are still waiting for that precious INS approval. March 22, 2001: INS approval came today! Our dossier will go to China in April! |
