This solider is considered the leader of the formation, who is responsible for issueing vocal commands to the rest of the formation soldiers, to achieve the objective given by the Arbitor, or the Graund. (See list of vocal commands here) Usually the only soldiers to lead a WH standard formation would be the Master Talon over his Silver Talon squad, or the Master Wing over his Silver Wing squad. Usually only squads form to each other in the standard formation. His weapon choice is usually out of his discretion, but is encouraged to have some sort of projectile weapon to use, to engage over the formation and hit the enemy line. |

| The front man of the standard formation bears a shield as he is expected to take the first heat of any engangement. He is considered 2nd leader, because he is responsible for leading the formation directionally, based on the vocal commands of the leader. Everyone else in the formation is responsible for guiding to this soldier, and keeping shape. | |
| The center-man as he is called, usually bears a pole-arm as he is the one to back up the frontman with his long ranged weapon. As also being responsible for taking the frontman's position once he falls. | |
| The right man is responsible for holding the formation together from the engaging line on his outside. | |
| The left man is responsible for holding the formation together from the engaging line on his outside. | |
| The commander is the one responsible for all vocal commands that are issued to the rest of the soldiers within this unit. | |
| Responsible for holding the center of the line, very important to keep it from breaking. | |
| Responsible for holding the outside left of the line, extremely important to fend off from flanking manuvers. | |
| Responsible for supporting the center and the left side of the line, with incredible defense. | |
| Responsible for defending the center, and the right side of the line. | |
| Responsible for holding the outside right of the line, extremely important to fend off from flanking manuvers. | |
