The Nodding Canaries (1961)

My review:

<>

This is not good Mitchell. It is a tired book, with no characters other than cardboard. The crime is a drab one, involving a body in a cave, bludgeoned to death. The murderer is obvious from the beginning, and his eventual arrest serves only as an anti-climax. Only the use of the victim and his mad mother raises the book from the purely humdrum level.
