We have a lot of rules but they are necessary in order for Haay Eaters to run effectively and remain fun for its members. The MOST important Rule is to remain ACTIVE in the game, without active members the game has no future.
GENERAL
* No swearing, teasing or being rude/obscene to anyone or anything.
* Always be polite and respectful, remember this is only a game.
* No sending chain letters to other members emails.
* Our boards are for Haay Eaters members to play the game, DON'T advertise on them.
* Haay Eaters, Buttons and Tiffy always have the last say on anything.
* If you are going to be away for more than a week, post a message on the Away Board.
* If you find a picture for your horse on another website, save it to your computer, DON'T hotlink to the site.
* Every member has an original HaayName that is used on ALL posts.
* Horses names are also original (meaning no 2 horses have the same or similar sounding name).
* In your HaayName and Horses names you cannot use symbols in place of letters, religious or satanic names which include the words (God, Jesus, Satan, The Devil). ALL names must be approved first by Haay Eaters.
* All new Trial Members start with 50,000HD and can create 2 x 3 year old horses and 2 x Newborn foals (NON RARE)
* Haay Eaters is an International Game, we have members from all over the world, you must forget about the country you live in and just play the game, treating all members as equals.
BANKING
* Haay Eaters currency is HaayDollars (HD). It is the only currency used in the game.
* Everything you buy, or any service you have done, MUST be paid immediately at the cash in board and also debit (you paying) or credit (you being paid) must be shown on your Bank Page.
* Your Bank Pages will be checked monthly so as there is no mistake (too much money, too little, something not being credited when it should have).
* To make more HD's you can get a job, breed your horses and sell the foals, win it by playing games, lotteries, etc, or run a business in Haay Town.
* If you do go bankrupt, then you have two options, 1)Restart the game, losing all your horses, jobs, businesses, degrees, etc, and start fresh, you still keep the same HaayName but as a Trial Member. 2)Go to the HSPCA and sell them one of your horses, this also comes with restrictions, which they will tell you about.
AGING & TIME
Haay Eaters has 4 (four) seasons, they are:
Spring - 1st September to 30th November
Summer - 1st December to 28th February
Autumn - 1st March to 31st May

* At the age of 25 (twenty-five) your horse must retire from breeding.
* At the age of 30 (thirty) your horse must pass over the rainbow (die) but they will remain in our registry and of course in our hearts.
REGISTERING
* All horses MUST be registered to be a part of the game.
* Check the Registered Horses list before naming a new horse/foal to make sure the name isn't already taken.
* You have 1 (one) month to register any newborn foals, winning horse etc if not you will lose them.
* If you have just brought a horse or foal that has already been registered you will need to change ownership.
* When you first become a member of Haay Eaters, you need to register 2 Mares, 1 Stallion, 1 Colt (Optional) and 1 filly (2 if you do not create a colt)
* To start a new breed which we do not have you must create all your horses that breed (2 mares, 1 stallion, 1 colt and 1 filly)
* If your mare is confirmed pregnant Dr Lee will add her to the Pregnant Mares Board, you DON'T add them.
VET AND FARRIER
* All horses/foals MUST see their assigned Vet at the beginning of each month for a Monthly checkup.
* All horses/foals 1yr and over MUST see their assigned Farrier at the beginning of each month for new shoes.
* If there is a problem with any of your horses/foals and the Vet or Farrier asks you to bring them back, then you MUST return and have them checked on that date.
* When you visit the Vet or Farrier please return within a couple of days to see what they have said.
STUD BOOK & ASSOCIATIONS
* ALL Stallions that you wish to breed with MUST be registered in the Stud Book.
* You MUST have a quality adult picture of your stallion, with its apropriate breed. For example DON'T use an Arabian for your Thoroughbred.
* If you are breeding to a Rare or High Pointed Stallion with restricted breedings please post a message on the Stud Books Breeding Board and wait for the owner of that stud to approve then you can go to Dr Lee.
* If you have an Association your full membership should be no more than 100HD.
* If you wish to own an Association, listed below is what is required for an Association Website:-
- Colour of your text and backgrounds are your choice please use an easily read text colour to go with your
background, not one that blends in, eg Lime on Yellow, bad choice.
- You MUST have pages for Rules, Registering, About, Members, Shows and Link Back to Haay Eaters.
- At the top of your page in the title put what your Association if for. EG Haay Eaters Gaited Horse Association or Haay
Eaters Quarter Horse Association.
- Your Association MUST be on geocities and must have a simple address. EG www.geocities.com/hegaitedhorse or www.geocities.com/hegha NOT www.geocities.com/horsesforveverwithme/haayeatersgaitedhorseassociation.html
- You can have frames but you need to know how to 'break free' from frames so as no-one is
stuck in them a good site on HTML is at www.lissaexplains.com
- The graphics or links must have something to do with the breed you register. EG dont use an Arabian picture for a Quarter Horse Association.
BREEDING
* Your horses MUST be 3 (three) years old before they can breed.
* To breed your own horses, make sure your stallion is registered in the HE Stud Book, then take your mare to Dr Lee for a pregnancy check.
* To breed your mare to another members stallion, make sure the stallion is registered in the HE Stud Book, pay the required Stud Fee at the Cash In Board and then take your mare to Dr Lee for a pregnancy check.
* You CAN'T offer your mares for brood but you can sell the foal before, or after it is born. For stallion owners who want to breed to a particular mare can ask a member to breed their mare to your stallion or another members stallion, and you will buy the foal from them. Whoever is paying for the breeding, or the foal will get to name the foal and keep it.
* You can also trade breedings with another member, for example, you own the mare and the other member owns the stallion, no money is paid but the stallion owner MUST get the first foal.
* Your stallion MUST be registered in the HE Stud Book to be able to breed.
* Stud fees for stallions must be like this:
Non-Rare Less than 500HP - 400HDmin to 800HDmax
Non-Rare 500HP to 995HP - 800HDmin to 1200HDmax
Non-Rare 1000HP to 1995HP - 1200HDmin to 2500HDmax
Non-Rare 2000HP to 3000HP - 2500HDmin to 4000HDmax
* For a Rare Coloured Horse that always produces rare coloured foals add 1000HD to those amounts, or for all other Rare Coloured Horses that don't always produce rare add 500HD to the above amounts.
* Once you have paid stud fee (unless a deal has been made) you need to check your mare with Dr Lee.
* If your mare is confirmed pregnant Dr Lee will add her to the Pregnant Mares Board, you DON'T add them.
* A mare can only have 7 (seven) foals in her entire lifetime, when she has them is up to you.

If you wish to trade a horse give everyone a chance to offer what they have not just one member, post it on the Trading Post.
* You must set a price for your horse, you cannot say 'make me an offer' or 'best offer' otherwise you will get new members, who are not sure what the horse is worth, offering you too much or not enough.
* If we see a sale or trade going through that isn't right then we'll stop it, sometimes we won't see it for a couple of days but once we're aware of it then it will be stopped until a fair sale or trade is made.

* After horses have been traded both owners must change the ownership of their new horses.
* If Change of Ownership of horses is not done within a week (7 days) then the sale or deal is cancelled, the same goes if the horse is not paid for.
TRAINING
* You can only train your horses in a maximum of 3 disciplines (including Halter)
* You MUST be trained in the level that your horses are in and can train in as many discplines as you want.
* Foals can be trained in Foal Halter, once they are 3 they lose that training and can train in 3 new disciplines.
* All Foals that are about to be trained in a discpline must be broken in.

* Once a Racer/Trotter has reached 8 years they can no longer race or trot and must train for other disciplines.
* A Horse racing or trotting cannot be trained in anything else (including halter) until they are pulled out (they can be pulled out at any time during the period in which they can race in)
* You must train in 3 talents before you can train in a discpline (eg You must train in Strength 1, Conformation 1 and Agility 1 before you can train in Driving 1)
* You must upgrade your horses talents when you wish to upgrade your horses level (eg Strength 2, Conformation 2 and Agility 2 before you can upgrade to Driving 2)
* You can train in 2 disciplines per week while your Horse can only train one talent or discipline a week, be warned you dont get too ahead in one discpline as there may be no classes for your horse to enter in that level.
YOUR MEMBER PAGE
* All new members must make their own member page. This is where you will keep track of your horses and other important information needed to play the game.
* You can make it on any website provider but we have found Geocities to be one of the best, easiest to use and you can upload pictures of your horses to it.
* When you join a basic member page is made for you, the username and password will be given to you so you can change the password.
* For a list of colours CLICK HERE
* For an Explaination of the HTML coding CLICK HERE
* All Pictures on your pages must be horse-related
* Colour of your text and backgrounds are your choice please use an easily read text colour to go with your background, not one that blends in, eg True Red on black, bad choice, and keep text all in one colour.
* Once you have done your member page, message us on the Main Message Board.
