WHAT MY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL COACH
MEANS TO ME
My High School Football Coach:
He is your best friend for life.
He will be the biggest influence in your life during your four years of high school.
He is a man you will always honor, obey, trust, tell the truth, and treat with dignity and respect. Under no circumstances will you ever disobey, disrespect, distrust, discredit, lie, or cheat him. If you do, you will have committed a mortal sin. He will punish you severely. The punishment that you will receive is what you deserve.
He possesses a lot of class and character. His goal is to pass those traits on to you.
He teaches you about the importance of teamwork.
He teaches you about life.
He instills values, morals, discipline, and life skills in you. Wherever you go in life, people can see them in your work habits.
He teaches you how to be a tough guy on the field, and a gentleman off the field.
He teaches you, since you are a big man, always stick up for the little guy.
He says what he means and means what he says. That’s why he has to be tough. Yet, he knows when to be sympathetic and compassionate.
He teaches you that whether your team wins or loses, always remember to be good sports.
He makes it known to you that you can come see him anytime about a personal problem you want to discuss, or in general, anything.
He will always be willing to give the shirt off his back to help you. Likewise whenever he is having troubles or problems, it is your obligation to do the same.
He will always give you a second chance, especially if you tried and fell short. And he would give you chance after chance until you got it right.
He will work with you to see that you get accepted to the college of your
choice.
He is like a father figure to you. In return, he will treat you like a son.
He is a person your family will welcome into your home with open arms.
He is a person you will definitely invite to your home for dinner. Your mother
will always be willing to go out of her way to make her favorite recipe for him.
He is a person you will definitely invite to your wedding. He would be an ideal
person to have in your wedding party. Come to think of it, he would be the
perfect choice for your best man.
He will definitely attend your mother's and father's funerals, when it is their time to go to heaven. Likewise, you will never miss attending his funeral, when it is his time to go to heaven.
