Mary Sues, Despies. . . this dreaded creature has many names. They lurk around online publishing sites such as fanfiction and fictionpress. They stalk chatrooms and roleplaying sites everywhere. Sometimes, you can even find them in published books!
But, whatever you may call them, �Despies� are definitely dangerous, and you want to avoid them at all costs (unless you�re purposely trying to torment them. . . But we�ll discuss that later.)
Before reading through this, we highly suggest that you take a good, deep look at yourself, and ask a very important question: am I a Mary Sue? And if you believe so, skip this whole chapter and go straight to Chapter V. If not, then please, continue.
We, Chrissy and Tara, are on a mission- to educate the masses about despies so that they can be avoided and/or converted. Despies can sometimes be literate and/or highly intelligent, and they just need a bit of advice or coaching. I know because I, Chrissy, used to be one of them to some degree. Others are just lost causes.
