Mid-semester Break to Chicago - the windy city (Fall 2001)............................Pg 8
Dawn broke, and we proceeded to Chinatown, or it should be called Chinastreet instead for breakfast. We went to this Malaysian restaurant aptly named Penang, where we gorged ourselves silly on authentic, local food at last! Guess who spent the most? comparatively cheap compared to the Bubba Shrimp restaurant where we had dinner the day before, but a bowl of Chendol cost USD5... I had Penang laksa (slurrp....wah..making my mouth water as I'm typing this leh!!), while the rest ordered Char Kuay Teow, Hainan Chicken rice, rojak, Roti Chanai, Popiah and other all-time local favourites... yyummy...

In the afternoon, the girls and Lem proceeded on their shopping spree, while the guys checked out Sony building, chilled out at Starbucks, and enjoyed the succulent popcorn that Kim queued for 45 minutes for. thanks, Kim!

Adieu, chicago!
The third night passed uneventfully except for a few scares by Yilin and Xiaoxian, with help from yours truly and Dianne. Those taking the flight back enjoyed another morning of shopping for cheesecakes to bring back to CMU, while the rest embarked on their road trip at 6 am in the morning. After hollanding again when getting out of Chicago, we cruised our way back to Pennsylvannia (no more speeding this time..) and stopped by Grove City to burn more moola. We all returned back, safe and sound, "staticsfied" and slightly larger at the waistline.. =)
