The Legend of the VGWA
part one: 1998 - 2000
The Video Game Wrestling Alliance has a long and storied history, dating back to the twilight days of the 20th century.  Much of this history has been lost to the sands of time, but after extensive research, we have recovered bits and pieces of the legacy of this illustrious organization.  Many of the biggest events in our history live again, right here...

April 4, 1998 - On this day in history, "Macho" Bill Savage lost a loser-leaves-town match to "Hollywood" Chad Hogan, who later went on to lost his title to "The Master" Bill Fuji in a League Challenge.

April 8, 1998 - Mike Benoit defeats Chad Hogan in a loser-leaves-town match.

April 15, 1998 - The Board of Directors, acting on a request from Hungarian Champion Shaman Peglow, reinstate Chad Hogan, so that the two might battle in a retirement match.  Hogan wins the match, and chooses to vacate the title so that he might go back to Hollywood to make more movies.

April 16, 1998 - Chad Benoit captures the vacated Hungarian Championship in a battle royale against Mike Savage, Billy the Butcher and Big Poppa Pegs.

April 26, 1998 - Giant Bill defeats Hungarian Champion LamaNamaDerdowski to win the title.

May 5, 1998 - Mike-Pac, known to his detractors as "Fudge-Pac", unmasked Unknown Bill, who was so humiliated, he apologized to his grandmother on national television.

May 8, 1998 - Cruiserweight Champion KimChaad signs a Title-For-Cigarette Match against Bill "Hitman" Hart.  Hart wins.

May 9, 1998 - Hungarian Champion "The Dominator" Chad Norton was knocked out by "Pitbull" Bill Steiner, who was heard to remark "I met yo mama at a garage sale!"  The title did not change hands, due to a ruling by the Board of Directors.

May 11, 1998 - A rematch is held between Chad Norton and Bill Steiner.  Norton makes Steiner submit.  "It was I, in fact, who met your momma at a garage sale!" said Norton.

May 23, 1998 - The Immortal "Rock Hard" Matt Boulder makes his debut with a victory over Ali Baba O'Pegli after eleven chokeslams.

June 6, 1998 - "The New Master" Chad Fuji defended his honor and the Hungarian Championship in a brutal contest against "The Master" Bill Fuji.  The New Master achieved the victory at the 13 minute mark to retain the title and the title of "The Master".

June 8, 1998 - "The New Master" Chad Fuji defeated Sting, Joe Bruiser and Billy the Butcher in a Shaolin Bowery Brawl for the title.  Later that same day, Fuji challenged his rival, "The Master" Bill Fuji to a retirement match.  It would be a Beijing Sudden Death Match... the winner, "The New Master" Chad Fuji!

June 10, 1998 - After defeating Evil Sting Todd twice, "The New Master" Chad Fuji offers him one final shot at the Hungarian Championship... a Beijing Sudden Death Match!  Fuji won yet again, this time by breaking the neck of Evil Sting Todd, putting him out of action for several weeks.

June 10, 1998 - Tully Blanchard defeated Dragon Bill, Master of the Flying Wasp Style, Mike-Pac and The Rock Lobster in a battle royale for a shot at the Cruiseweight Championship.  He got a shot later that same day against current champion, Dean Malenkowski - it went to a draw, and the title did not change hands.

June 14, 1998 - Pablo Guererro lost a title shot to his uncle Chico, and had to apologize to his grandmother as a result.

June 23, 1998 - A 30 minute First Blood match is signed between Hungarian Champion Chad Flair and Wang Dang Sweet Wu-Tang for the title.  Flair won in 49 seconds!  A rematch was immediately signed, this time the title could change hands only in the instance of a TKO or submission.  The winner and new champion - Wang Dang Sweet Wu-Tang @ 11:49! 

June 29, 1998 - Hungarian Champion Diamond Dallas Derdowski signs a Best-of-Seven series with Macho Bill Savage to end their long-standing feud.  VGWA officials determined that every match would be for the title!  3D won every match by submission!
