The Legend of the VGWA
The Video Game Wrestling Alliance began in 1998 as a humble independent wrestling organization which operated out of Bay City, Michigan.  It was quickly recognized by the Hungarian Video Game Wrestling Association, and sanctioned with a championship, the Hungarian Commonwealth People's Heavyweight Championship of the World.  Other titles soon followed, including the International Tag Team Grand Prix and the Mid-Atlantic States Championship.  Soon, the National Wrestling Alliance took notice, and their N.W.A. Jr. Heavyweight Championship of the World was contested almost exclusively in the VGWA until late '99, when the N.W.A. severed ties with the VGWA.  As time passed, the VGWA added a Hardcore Championship to satisfy the bloodthirsty attitudes of 1990's wrestling fans.  The Tully Blanchard Memorial Missouri National T.V. Title, another regional championship, was added to the mix in early 1999, despite the fact that Tully Blanchard had not passed away.  While the title has since become defunct, Blanchard continues to live to this day.
As the 90's drew to a close, Vincent McMahon's WWF was wreaking havoc on the pro wrestling landscape, virtually destroying the territorial system as it swallowed up promotion after promotion.  The VGWA worked out a deal with the WWF, and the Hungarian Title became unified with the WWF Championship.  It was around this time that the title gained Intergalactic status, having been defended not only on earth, but in the stratosphere.    The International Tag Team Grand Prix was, by this time, defended exclusively in Japan, and a new championship, the Pageantry of Grace & Style that is Tag Team Wrestling, was created.  The Hardcore Championship was also defended strictly in Japan, and was soon unified with the F.M.W. Title.  As the Mid-Atlantic States territory began to promote less shows, the title was merged with the Florida States Championship to become the Unified Mid-Atlantic Florida States Championship, and was granted World Title status by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.  The Missouri National T.V. Champion, Frenchy Bearclaw, took the title with him to Canada, where it was renamed the Canadian National T.V. Title.  It's current wherabouts are unknown.  The Unified WWE/VGWA created another new title, the International Sattelite Television Championship of the World.
As time continued to pass, the wrestling boom of the 90's gave way to a drought period.  The VGWA promoted less and less shows, until finally ceasing all house shows and pay-per-views sometime in mid-2002.  While they never officially declared themselves out of business, "Big Dutht" Billy Rhodth, who at that time was the reigning Unified WWE/Hungarian Intergalactic Champion, last defended his title on April 9, 2001.

In early 2004, the three major shareholders of VGWA stock, "Kingpin" Billy LaLonde, "Widowmaker" Mike Todd and "The Polish Prince" Chad Derdowski worked out a deal with "The Millionaire" Matt Welz to buy all remaining shares of stock from Vincent K. McMahon, and put the VGWA back in business.  On April 9, 2005, exactly four years to the day after the last VGWA show, Ultraclash '05 was held!  Fans rejoiced, and the VGWA was back!

Soon after, the VGWA severed all ties with the WWF and was once again recognized by the Hungarian Video Game Wrestling Association.  "Big Dutht" Billy Rhodth put the title on the line, and it was won by Chad Derdowski, setting a new record - 16 title reigns!  The title changed hands several times, before finally being won by Diamond Dallas Derdowski, who then went on to defeat International Swedish Fish Champion "Millionaire" Matt Welz to unify all disputed titles and create the
Undisputed Hungarian Commonwealth People's Heavyweight Championship of the World, which is contested to this day...
