Tehran: Arrived by train at about 5 am and caught taxi to hotel after failing to contact it by telephone. Visited Bank Melli to collect funds remitted from Australia and then Pars Internet. After lunch intending to visit the US Den of Espionage (the local name for the former US Embassy) and some of the nearby museums.

Hello Howard,
Good to read you seem to be having a good time, and your money problems solved. Yazd would have been on my itinary if I'd had the time. Meanwhile I've arrived back home in Germany.
My visit in Therean included the "Den of Espinoage", the shrine of Ayatollah Chomenei plus adjacent cemetary and the Golestan palace.
If your going to the Golestan you might need to walk around a bit - the LP map is somewhat misleading. But i can recommend the LP restaurant recommendation opposite the mosque near the bazaar (Kayyam?).
And there'll be some footage soon ...
