Continuity
The story of Henry's counting of God's infinitely uncountable blessings.
COLLEGE GROUP DINNER, MARCH 30, 2008

Instructions
: the directions here start from two places: WCAC and Wheaton College. I assume everyone knows how to get to church from your respective domiciles. If you're the DIY-type, google-map my address: 251 N. West St, IL 60187.

REQUIRED: bring yourself, fully clothed. Nudists or adventuresome Kingdom Run / Naked Raid practitioners will incur some traditional Chinese/Singaporean disciplinary action from Jeff Kuo and my mom.

If you get lost (and the probability is actually significant), call my home phone at (630)480-8525. Do NOT call my cell phone because (1) I rarely use mine, and (2) because of that, my dad's using it during his stay here.

From Wheaton College: walking time ~ 15 minutes (~7 if you run, ~7 + caning if you Kingdom Run).

(1) Head west on College Avenue (i.e walk away from BGC and Saga)

(2) Keep walking, past College Church, Wheaton Public Library, St. John Lutheran Church, Gary Methodist, through Memorial Park.

(3) Now, you should see City Hall somewhere close by, as well as a bunch of townhouses, and a private school. Head towards the townhouses (find a way around the fence).

(4) Look for 251. It's the house with two windchimes.

Alternatively, if you're driving, or you don't trust my directions above, you can head west on Wesley Street (that's the road b/w Chase Bank and the Wheaton Public Library). Pass by a bunch of shops, that deli place, Wheaton Post Office, City Hall, and then when you see a bunch of townhouses to your right, look for 251. Walking time is about the same.

From WCAC:

(1) Head north on Naper Blvd (a.k.a. Naperville Road) or Blanchard Road. Either ways work.

(2) Turn left on Roosevelt Road (i.e. head west, away from Chicago).

(3) Turn right on Main Street.

(4) Now keep following Main Street until you cross the railroad tracks.

(5) On Wesley Street, turn LEFT (this is the second light after you cross the railroad).

(6) I live in the townhouses across the street from Wheaton Post Office.

Alternatively, you can keep going on Roosevelt Road and turn RIGHT on West Street (this is the next light after Main Street and right after the PowerShares building). Beware: It's really hard to see the sign. Cross the railroad tracks and after passing by Caribou and an Episcopal Church, you'll find the townhouses. No advantage whatsoever.

PARKING NOTES: You can't park inside the townhouse area, or they actually will tow you (I've seen it happen). I've always suggested parking behind City Hall, but some have parked on West Street (on the other side of the townhouses) before without problems. On Wesley Street (across from the Post Office) and on W. Seminary, there are 2-hour parking spaces. I've never seen anybody park there, and I've never seen any police care. If you're extremely risk-averse, then somewhere near the Post Office is a free municipal parking garage.

QUESTIONS? If you have questions before March 30, email me at [email protected]. I'll be in Minnesota through spring break, so don't call.
