tal-hidma pastorali tal-Kan. Dun Evan Caruana, li kien kappillan tal-Gudja bejn l-1991 u l-2003.
L-ewwel laqgha kienet saret fi
Triq Santa Katerina
nhar it-Tlieta, 9 t' April 1991,
b' laqgha ghal subien adolexxenti.
Laqgha ohra simili kienet saret ftit wara ghat-tfajliet.
Il-laqghat tal-grupp malajr imxew
u bdew isiru f' dar zghira imsemmija
"St. Anne" fi Triq iz-Zebbuga.
Din id-dar ghada tintuza sallum bhala
l-kwartier tal-grupp.
Minhabba l-fatt li din id-dar qabel kienet tintuza'ghal-laqghat
taz-Zghazagh Haddiema Insara,
li kienu jsejhu lilhom infushom "Section", il-post baqa' maghruf b' dan l-isem ukoll, u b' hekk anke l-Grupp Zghazagh Gudja ghadu sallum jisejjah ukoll
bhala l-Grupp tas-Section.
Matul il-bidu tas-snin Disghin,
saru xoghlijiet ta' rikostruzzjoni u immodernizzar tal-kwartieri.
Meta x-xoghol kien lest, il-post inghata
l-isem ta' Dar iz-Zghazagh.
Wara 14 -il sena, l-entuzjiazmu tal-grupp ma dbielx. Mill-ftit membri tal-1991,
illum hemm aktar minn 100 membru,
b' etajiet bejn 13 u 30 sena.
Iz-zghazagh li jattendu gejjin minn kull sfera tal-hajja : studenti tas-sekondarji, studenti universitarji, studenti vokkazzjonali, haddiema, gradwati, professionisti, singles, gharajjes u mizzewgin.
Dak li jghaqqadhom huwa l-ispirtu zghazugh li jissarraf fil-virtuijiet
tal-hbiberija, imhabba entuziazmu
u generozita' .
Il-Grupp Zghazagh Gudja joffri ambjent fejn iz-zghazagh li jattendu jiskopru
lilhom infushom, lil Alla, lil hbiebhom u lis-socjeta' ta' madwarhom.
is an organisation
which works with Youths
in the village of Gudja, in Malta.
It operates exclusively through
the parish of Gudja, which is presently administered by parish priest
Fr Martin Cordona.
The group was established in 1991, through the pastoral endevours of
Can. Fr. Evan Caruana,
who was parish priest of Gudja
between 1991 and 2003.
The first ever meeting of the group was held at St. Catherine's Street,
on Tuesday, 9 April 1991 with a meeting for teenage boys.
A similar meeting for teenage girls was to follow soon afterwards.
Almost immediately, the group's meetings started being held at a small house
"St. Anne", on Triq iz-Zebbuga.
This is the same place that is the present headquarters of the group.
Due to the fact that this house
used to host the meetings of the former Zghazagh Haddiem Insara,
which used to call themselves as "Section", the place came to be known
by that name as well,
thus resulting in the fact that even the Grupp Zghazagh Gudja
is refered to as the "Section" Group.
After 14 years, the group's enthusiasm did not dwindle. From the handful of members way back in 1991,
it now has more that 100 members,
aged between 13 to 30.
The youths who attend come from all spheres of life: students at secondary level, university students, vocational students, labourers, graduates,
professionals, singles,
engaged and married.
What brings them together is
the youth-spirit
materialized in the virtues
of friendship, love,
enthusiasm and generosity.
The Grupp Zghazagh Gudja
offers an environment
where the youths who attend
discover themselves, God,
friends and society at large.
