So far this summer has sucked. Michael and I broke up, Liz and Max broke up and to top it all off, Liz has left for the summer. So I dont even have anyone to talk to, but thats all going to change today. Max has been sitting in that booth for the last hour just mooning over his cherry coke and Im going to put a stop to his loneliness and mine.
Max, I say walking over to his booth. He looks up at me slowly with that pathetic wounded look on his face. How about you and I get together tonight and do something?
I guess so. What did you have in mind? he asked. I noticed that he didnt seem to thrilled with the idea but decided to let it slide.
How about a movie? Ill pick you up tonight at 7:00. Leave the frown at home. I walked away with a smile not even waiting for an answer.
I arrived at the Evans house at 7:00 on the dot. A miracle in itself considering it a taken me an hour to decide on what to wear, but thats something I refuse to even think about. Max was ready when I arrived and I must say he looked really good in his faded jeans black t-shirt and leather jacket. We looked good together, because I had finally decided on my tight black t-shirt and a jean mini skirt I hadnt worn in ages.
The movie was great and afterwards we went to have coffee and talked for hours. It was the best time I can remember having in years. I never realized how funny and talkative Max could be once you got him started. I had a great time tonight Maria. I think this is something we need to do more often. Max said with a questioning light in his eyes.
I would love to, I had a really great time with you. I said with a smile. I stared in to his eyes for what seemed like hours but know was only seconds before I leaned in a brushed my lips against his in a brief touch. Ill see you tomorrow with that I turned and walked back to my car. He stood on the porch for a minute before going into the house and a slow smile spread across my face. Im not sure whats going to happen but I cant wait to find out.
