THE DISTANCE

Though we may be miles apart

and many roads cross in between,

love can travel through prayers and wishes

and cover the distance from you to me

 

You haven't been gone for too long

but each day I feel it a little more

how the distance stretching before us now

seems farther than it ever has before

 

I hope your road has taken you

to where you believe you need to be

but even more, I hope the distance you’ve traveled

someday leads you back to me
