The Gypsy in Me
Back to Shore
Gypsy-Fleetwood Mac
A lot of people have asked me, why Gypsy Soul? For those who don't know, this is my online nickname and what I am known as when I play spades in Flipside.

Well, I don't think I will ever be able to fully explain "why". Many many moons ago when I first heard Van Morrison's song "
Into the Mystic" I immediately felt a strong connection with that term...gypsy soul. It seemed to describe me perfectly.

Though I am mostly of Spanish heritage (with Swiss and Filipino origin as well), as far as I know, there is no"gitano" or gypsy blood in the family. And no, I don't own a crystal ball nor do I practice any kind of magic or pagan rituals. In fact, I am 100% Catholic.

Aside from having a not-so-good reputation, gypsies are primarily known as nomads. They are wanderers.

I have a wandering soul, I am a dreamer. I am constantly plagued with wanderlust. If I could have it my way, I would live the life of a gypsy for as long as I could, travelling all over the world. And though I have been fortunate enough to visit lots of beautiful places around the world, there is still so much to explore and to experience.

Gypsies are also widely known as lovers of music and dance. (
click here for some dance quotes) I LOVE music! I even thought of dedicating a page to this passion of mine but I didn't know where to start nor end. Music, like the beach, is my therapy. I love most kinds, from old to new, classical rock to merengues and sambas, Dean Martin to Dave Matthews band, reggae & world music to ballads...maybe with the exception of rap and some country. And, of course, i love to dance.

So guess that sums it up...a little about me and my gypsy soul.
