Why Jesus Came
Why did the Son of God appear? To destroy the Devil's works.{17} Death came into the world through one man; rising from death has also come through one man.{18} Death is the last enemy to be destroyed.{19} Jesus wanted to use death to destroy the Devil who has the power of death. He also wanted to set all people free from the slavery of fearing death all their lives.{20} He destroyed death. Through the gospel, he has made it clear that we will live and never die.{21}
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.{22}
Jesus said, ``I came to find lost people and to save them.''{23}
Jesus sacrificed himself for our sins, so that we might escape from the evil in this world.{24}
Christ died for your sins once for all time. He was a good man dying for bad men. Why? To bring you to God.{25}
Jesus said, ``I came, so that they might have life -- to the fullest!{26} Jesus was handed over to die for our sins. He was raised from death to make us right with God.{27}
Even though Jesus was God's Son, Jesus learned to obey from the things he suffered. After Jesus was made perfect, he became the Source of eternal salvation for everyone who will obey him.{28}
Jesus is God's Lamb who takes away the world's sin!{29} Christ appeared to take away the sins of the people. There is no sin in Christ.{30} Christ gave himself for everyone. He was the price. That was God's proof given at the right time.{31} His blood has set us free. Christians have the forgiveness of sins!{32} With God's gracious love, we are made right with God through Christ Jesus who sets us free. And all of this is free!{33} We have freedom in Christ -- the forgiveness of sins.{34}
