SCA - Society for Creative Anachronism
The Society for Creative Anachronism - or SCA for short - is a non-profit organization whose members explore history.  Specifically, about 600 AD to 1600 AD Europe and the cultures they were in contact with.  Where else can Norse raiders (Vikings) rub elbows with the nobility of Queen Elizabeth's court while tasting the foods of the Near East ca. 1300 AD?  There is something for everyone - sword fighting, artistry, pomp and circumstance and great fun.  Some people take their art very seriously, others come to party with like-minded friends.  But we are all linked by our interest in what was, what might have been, and to some extent what we would like the Middle Ages to have been.

Here are a few links related to the SCA.  This is an international organization so you can find a branch wherever you live.  Click
