I like seeking Christian themes in works of fiction. What themes do you find in Harry Potter that could parallel themes in the Christian faith?

1. Even though harry didn't want to die he was willing to die to save the rest of the world from voldemort. to me that is a Christ like theme. Jesus didn't want to die but he did anyway to save the whole world from sin.

Since Harry was a seeker on his quiddich team, here are some scriptures for seekers.

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. Matthew 6:33 NLT

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7 NIV

The Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost. Luke 19:10 NLT

From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from each one of us. 'For in him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.' Acts 17:26-28 NIV

Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others. 1 Corinthians 10:24 NIV

Since you are so eager to have the special abilities the Spirit gives, seek those that will strengthen the whole church. 1 Corinthians 14:12 NLT

it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:6 NLT
