Camera Obscura
A camera obscura, consisting of a light-proof box with a pinhole aperture. Light entering the pinhole forms a clear, upside-down image on the back side of the camera, and film can thus be exposed.
Daguerrotype Camera
Sigrist Camera
A Sigrist camera, made in 1897 by a
French-naturalized Swiss engineer, with a f3.8 Planar-Zeiss lens, and a shutter-curtain capable of speeds up to 1/1000 of a second. The top of the camera has an exposure calibrator, a switch for tripping the shutter, and chart of suggested exposures. It took 9x12 cm. photos.
