| What is Easter about anyways? For some it means candy or an Easter egg hunt, or an Easter basket or maybe a chocolate bunny. But really, it's all about Christ dying for our sins, 2000 years ago. He did it so we could have a relationship with God, our creator, because he was the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. He paid the price because he loves each and every one of us so much. All we have to do is ask Him to be a part of our lives. That doesn't mean that when you ask Him into your life that He's a dictator and you "better watch out because if you don't do good He'll zap you down". It does mean that you have someone powerful that's there to help you and lead and guide you and be there for you. We're not perfect and He's ready and willing to forgive us when we mess up. He made you and wants the best for you, He has a perfect plan for your life. With Him really in your life, living for Him each and every day, you're sure to find this plan. How do we know how to live for Him? How do we know what He's saying to us? It's easy, it's all in the Bible. It has the answers to every life's problem. It's the guidebook for life! We need to ask Him to be a part of our lives. It doesn't take a big ceremony, all you have to do is whisper to Him, wherever you are, He can hear you, He's always listening. Actually, you don't even have to whisper it, just think to Him and He's listening! He'll walk with you, He's right beside you every day. Love Him back! God, I want to have a relationship with you. Forgive me for the things I've done wrong. I will do my best to do what's right but I can only do that with your help. Please help me. I believe that you died for me, for ME, and that I don't have to face eternity away from you. Please come into my life because without you, I am nothing. I want your Holy Spirit inside of me to lead and guide me. Help me to rest in you and from now on, I trust you as the Lord of my life. Please come into every part of it, of my world. I will walk with you from now on until forever, thank you Jesus, amen. 1-Now that you've made this commitment, tell somebody! It is so important to tell someone that you trust. 2-Get hooked up with a Bible-believing church body. Being a part helps support you and helps you grow in your relationship with God. 3-get a Bible and start reading it. A good place to start is the book of John. It talks all about Christ's life and the miracles he did. 4-Get down on your knees and pray. Relationships are made with time. How can you know somebody if you base your relationship on just the first 5 minutes you were together? 5- stand up for Christ. God wants us to stand up for our beliefs in Him. It could be us doing or not doing something that speaks louder than our words. "I was made to love You. I was made to need you." |
