As you can see above, A.W.O.L. means "a work of love". A work of love is anything that you do, from your heart, to help somebody, doing it for Christ. Also an AWOL has no expectation of being paid. AWOLs are a fun way of showing Jesus to those around you. For example: your neighbor has 3 children and never gets a break or a chance to have any time by herself. She always has to keep an eye on her children but doesn't have enough money to pay a babysitter. See, there's an opportunity for an AWOL! You can offer to watch her kids, no charge. AWOLs give you a chance to shine Jesus to those in need. Besides, they benefits you because you know what you're doing is right, AND it pleases God! What's better than that? AWOLs let people see Jesus through you. So go ahead, shine Jesus to those around you by doing a work of love. No matter how big or small, you're making a difference for Jesus in the world. You may be the only Jesus people ever see. |
