RANT!

punk, as many people see it, is a red herring.  you can't be "punker than" anyone.  punk is just a name for a youth movement.  punk exists today as a scene for people into punk rock to unite and be comrades, fuck all the elitist, exclusive bullshit.  punk isn't anything particular, either.  there are many aspects of punk culture that are inherent in many other ways of life.  just cuz you protest was doesn't make you a fuckin hippy, and DIY isn't exclusive to punk, either.  it's pointless to try and label and categorize punk cuz there's no textbook definition, and there shouldn't be.  all that does is destroys what punk meant in the first place.  i'm not claiming what punk is or isn't, this is just what i have observed over the years.
