HEALTH AND SAFETY
The Corporation shall maintain a Health and Safety Committee whose function shall be to take all precautionary measures to safeguard employees. A representative of the Union shall sit on this committee. Mr.Pierre Attard has been nominated to represent the union.
INJURY
ON DUTY:
1.
If an employee is injured in the course of his duties without any
contributory negligence he will be entitled to one year leave with pay during
the period of injury, as well as any allowance and premiums lost.
2.
Employees suffering an injury on duty must notify their superior immediately
and in no case later than 24 hours from the time of the injury.
3.
Notification of the accident must be forwarded to the Personnel Office
on the appropriate form together with the National Insurance form N.I.30
duly endorsed by the employee within 24 hours. The N.I.30 form
can be picked from Polyclinics and St’Lukes Hospital.
4.
Employees who suffer injury whilst on duty shall benefit from Injury
Leave for a maximum period of ONE YEAR on full pay less the amount of
any injury benefit to which an employee covered by the Agreement.
