Colum saw that Scarlett wasn't feeling well so he hurried to get a carriage for them. Once they were in the carriage, Colum told Scarlett and Patsy of the plans.
"We'll be staying in a hotel, tonight and tomorrow morning we'll get on a train to Adamstown. Our O'Hara cousins live just outside of Adamstown."
As soon as they reached the hotel room, Scarlett knew for sure that she was going to vomit. She hurried to the bathroom* where she vomited into the toilet. As soon as she was done, she looked up, a confused look on her face and then her eyes widened, and her mouth dropped open.
I'm Pregnant! I'm Pregnant! Scarlett thought to herself And Rhett! He'll be so happy, I'll be so happy! Wait! I shouldn't be here, I should be in Charleston, with Rhett... No, I came he for a vacation and a vacation I'll be taking, then I'll go back to America and tell Rhett.
"Are you all right, Scarlett?" Patsy asked
"I'm all right. I just feel a little sick that's all. Tell Colum I'll be in bed all evening."
"Do you want me to unlace you first?"
"Yes, I would like that very much."
THE NEXT DAY
Scarlett woke up the next day feeling extremely happy. Now she had something Rhett wanted. Something that would make him love her, and they would be so happy together. Scarlett couldn't wait for this vacation to be over.
Pansy dressed Scarlett, and then they all went downstairs to meet Colum for breakfast. As soon as Scarlett stepped put onto the street, she was completely amazed at what she saw.
"What is it Colum?"
"It's Saturday Market, Scarlett." "Can we look around?" Scarlett said, her eyes glued to a table of multi-colored skirts and shawls and stocking. Especially the striped stockings.
"Don't worry, Scarlett you will have a bit of time to look around after breakfast before we get on the train.�
By the time Scarlett finally got on the train, she had bought skirts and stockings of all colors and sizes, in fact the only thing that kept her from buying the same amount shirts and shawls was that she had a train to catch.
