After Rhett left Scarlett ran to her bedroom and flug her self unto her bed, and cried and cried until she fell asleep. After about a half of an hour she woke up, prepared herself and went downstairs to dinner. After dinner she went to her room to think things out. "I'll have to get him back," she thought " Melanie said he loved me so he must!"
The next day was Melanie's funeral, Scarlett dressed in black and went. As soon as she got there it began to rain, and Scarlett stood alone, watching the cermony wishing that Rhett was there with her. After the funeral she went home, knowing that she was not welcome at the reception that was being held. She went home and cried herself to sleep, again .
The next day Scarlett boarded a train for Jonesboro. When they got there, Will was waiting for them.
"Hello, Will." Scarlett said giving him a hug.
"Hello, Scarlett. Let me take your bags." Scarlett handed him her bags. And they rode to Tara. When they got there Scarlett ran inside.
"Mammy! Mammy! Where are you?"
"Scarlett," Will said "Scarlett don't."
"And why not? Mammy!"
"Mammy is sick, Scarlett."
"What?! Where is she?"
"In your old bedroom. She wanted to be there." Scarlett ran up the stairs as fast as she could. She entered her old bedroom to find mammy asleep on her bed.
"Miss. Scarlett?"
"It's me Mammy." Scarlett said softly as she sat beside Mammy.
"Where's Mist' Rhett?"
"He's not here, Mammy. He left me." Scarlett began to cry.
"Shhh, Scarlett. Mammy's here."
"Oh, Mammy. . ." and Scarlett started to tell Mammy the whole story about how Rhett Left her.
"Oh, Mammy. I know I can get him back."
"Don't worry, Miss. Scarlett. Mist' Rhett will come. I's sure of it."
"Thank you, Mammy."
A MONTH LATER
"Now, you be good for Suellen and Will. Do you understand?" Both Ella and Wade knoded there heads. "Goodbye, then."
"I's sure that they'll be good, Miss.Scarlett." Mammy said, now back to full Health.
Scarlett got on the train and waved to her family as the train left the station. "I've got to get him Back, and nows my chance." Scarlett thought to her self as the train reached Atlanta.
Every night for the next six months Scarlett got as dressed up as one can get for dinner, hoping that Rhett would come. And every night, she fell asleep telling herself that he would come tommorrow. Finally, Scarlett gave up, and the night that Scarlett didn't get dressed up Rhett came. . .
