Hot Butter Blue Beans
One of my favorite games as a kid was Hot Butter Blue Beans. It consisted of one kid hiding a paddle, which the other kids looked for. You would set bounties; Dad’s woodpile would usually be in the bounties to hide the paddle within. Someone was picked to be IT.
IT would hide the paddle while the other kids had their eyes cover. Then the kids would look for the paddle. When someone found the paddle, we would all yell Hot Butter Blue Beans and run for the safe area. The person who found the paddle would try to paddle someone before we all made it to the safe area. If they paddled someone, the person who was paddled would be IT and have to hide the paddle. If not, then the person who found the paddle would be IT and hide the paddle.
