- Duo: Year of the Horse -
*This collection of Zodiac information is an excerpt from the "LITTLE GIANT ENCYCLOPEDIA of the ZODIAC" by The Diagram Group. Ergo, I didn't write this stuff, folks!

Duo wasn't too hard to figure out specifically. His element is fire, so that made Horse the best choice for his personality. ^_^

History: The horse is associated with elegance, bravery, nobility, and grace. In China, the horse is a symbol of freedom.

Personality: Horses approach life with contagious enthusiasm. They are usually happy and will have many friends. They love to chat, converse, or orate. Horses have good images - others see their zest for life, bravery, and independence - but they are actually quite cowardly. Although they love freedom, horses are not truly independent as they rely on others for support and encouragement that is vital to their well-being.

Secret Horse: On the surface, horses appear to be very self-assured and fearless.Underneath, however, they are weak and fragile creatures. They are easily scared and let themselves get carried away by their emotions.

Element: Horse is linked to the ancient Chinese element of fire. Fire is a dynamic, exciting sign, which is enhanced by horse's innate Yang tendency. The energy of fire can be expressed both positively and negatvely. It brings warmth, light, and protection as well as the ability to burn and destroy. In horses, fire expresses itself irratically, making them both dynamic and temperamental.

     Good Friends for Horse
The listed friends show the compatibility of horse with other animals. There is no fixed ruling, however, because there are other influences on both the dog and any potential friend. These influences are: the inner companion in life, and the dominant element.(The listed friends for dog are all based on the other zodiacs of the pilots... don't ask if you don't know why. Also, the "+'s" are supposed to mean FRIEND, however, this book does not specify if the listed are just good friends or good friends...)

Dog and Horse (1+2): This is a case of opposites that attract. Horses appreciate dogs' loyal and generous natures and their ability to see things as they really are. In turn, dogs take great pleasure in the company of lively horses and will ignore their waywardness.

Rabbit and Horse (3+2): Moody horses makes a disruptive friend for rabbit, who may not tolerate this for long unless very much in love. (!?!? An unexpected treat for you 2x3/3x2 peoples...)

Ox and Horse (4+2): This will be an unhappy match for the pair. The two will only annoy each other. Lively horse will not get any excitement from ox; ox cannot give the flattery that vain horse requires. Also, horse is too independent to accept ox's authoritarian habits for long.

Dragon and Horse (5+2): Enthusiastic horse and energetic dragon can do well together if they share a common purpose and dragon does not invade horse's privacy too much. Self-preoccupied horses are not able to give dragons the attention they crave.

Love
*This section is very shakey, as no one really knows how this stuff works as far as the pilots are concerned. Therefore, nothing is underlined to show association with the Horse sign and Duo.

Horse in Love: Horses love to be in love. In fact, they can be more in love with the idea of being in love than with the actual recipient of their affections. Horse people are the type to fall in love at first site. Once smitten, they put all their energies into seducing that person. As partners, horses are exciting but difficult. They are moody and like their freedom while still demanding support. They are highly romantic and live at the mercy of their emotions. For love, a horse will change everything: buy a house, change job or emigrate, for example. They are flighty people, however, and will fall out of love as quickly as they fell in love. To keep horses interested, partners should try ignoring them. Any lasting relationship with a horse will be punctuated by major crises. Stangely enough, these help to prolong the relationship as they keep the horse interested - horse people thrive on dramatic scenes.

Horse and Sex: Horses are the epitome of sex appeal and are very sensual. A horse will be impatient to consummate a relationship and will employ whatever means necessary to seduce the object of his or her passion. Horses are passionate and energetic lovers. Horses are enthusiastic about sex and expect their partners to share this. Their enthusiasm may quickly wane, however, as horses can run hot one mnute and cold the next. Sadly, horses are likely to be unfaithful. They are generally weak people who cannot resist temptation. Unreasonably, perhaps, they will expect to be forgiven as easily as they forget. Usually, horse people's total immersion in love makes it easier for others to forgive their indescretions and egocentric behavior.

The Horse Years and Their Elements
The horse is a Yang fire animal. Each of the horse years, however, is associated with an element which is said to have its own influence. These elements are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water.

Duo is a Fire-Wood horse: Wood has a calming influence on the horse. Wood horses are more cooperative and helpful than other horses. They should watch out for others trying to take advantage of them though, as wood diminishes the horse's perceptive abilities, making them too gullible at times. Wood helps to settle the horse's nervous energies. Emotionally, therefore, this horse is not so prone to depression and bad moods and will be mostly happy and good-tempered.
