- The Spirit: Original Version -
This version was made a VERY long time ago. It was written originally to answer the question of "what exactly does Gundam Wing teach us?" but I find it answers my own view rather than a general perspective like it was supposed to.
Oh well. ^_^

      The thing is that Gundam Wing teaches you to look at things from both sides, and that everyone's first intentions might not be their true desires in the big picture. Treize is a good example of this.
      Also, it teaches you (perhaps not intentionally) that there is a deeper meaning to battle besides blood and death. In truth, it's so much more than that. War is a human nature that cannot be gotten rid of. As Hiirou points out, we cry and show our sorrow for those who are lost, but we do not stop fighting. War is a big part of our history, our culture, and our heritage. The battlefield is where the weak are separated from the strong, the cowards from the fearless, the shamed from the glorious, and so on.
      Although it's true that even the victor in a war loses to an extent... No soldier dies in vain, so long as they've been fighting for what they truly believe in. War can be described as a mass of souls willing to die for their beliefs. For this reason, WAR IS BEAUTIFUL. ^__^;
      How many pretty-boy mecha shows do THAT?! Hehe... and this is one of the reasons I don't like Relena, too. She completely misses the honor in battle. Yeah, well... leave it up to a dumb stalker to mess it up. e__e; This is why I love Gundam Wing so much. This is the spirit that comes with the show. It's not a mere cartoon painted on cels. It is a testiment to humanity and what we're capable of doing. Horrific? Maybe... maybe not. This is what Gundam Wing has taught me, and is still teaching me.

Flame me?
Go right ahead!
I look forward to insulting your intelligence. ^__^;
