Allied Forces of the United Earth Sphere Alliance
(better known as the "Alliance" or "ESA")
- History: Between AC 130/133 and AC 195 (refer to AC Timeline)
- Objective: Universal military domination under the guise of defending peace
- Oppositions: OZ, Romefeller, the colonies.
- Importance: ESA was originally meant to put an end to the many conflicts plaguing the Earth. Unfortunately, they chose to take control using military force instead of using more peaceful methods. Due to this overwhelming power, the Earth and colonies alike are controlled with an iron and merciless first. Many pro-independence groups chose to take their activities underground. "Operation Meteor" is launched 15 years later after ESA assassinates the highly influencial pacifist colonial leader, Heero Yuy, to strike back at the Earth's domination.
Organization of the Zodiac
(better known as "OZ")
- History: Between AC 175 and AC 195 (refer to AC Timeline)
- Objective: Universal military domination for the Romafeller Foundation under the guise of defending peace
- Oppositions: ESA, the colonies.
- Importance: OZ is a secret military organization funded by the Romefeller family, a private foundation. ESAs first mobile suit corps, the "Specials," is essentially controlled by OZ. As the Specials rack up numerous achievements in battle, OZ gains power and influence within ESA. Later on, OZ overthrows ESA and takes over its militaristic goals for the Romefeller Foundation.
Romefeller Foundation
- History: Known between AC 173 and AC 195 (refer to AC Timeline)
- Objective: Universal military domination using OZ
- Oppositions: ESA, the colonies.
- Importance: The Romefeller Foundation is the financial manager of ESA. The Romefeller family, native to Germany, is interested in universal domination of the Earth and colonies. Being a major financial and political influence, the Foundation uses OZ within the Alliance to seize this desired power. The Foundation's main industry is mobile suit research and production.
Colonies and their citizens
- History: Between AC 001 and AC 196 (refer to AC Timeline)
- Objective: Peaceful living for human beings away from the war-torn Earth.
- Oppositions: ESA, OZ, Romefeller Foundation.
- Importance: The colonies are are the main prize of every domineering power in the AC world. For this reason, the colonies are torn apart at the seams due to ESA's military intervention. With the help of their leader, Heero Yuy, they regained solidarity and announced their wish for demilitarization and separationg from the Earth's overwhelming control. This all changed after Heero Yuy was assassinated in AC 175. With his death, the colonies lose their unity and are thrown back to the mercy of ESA. Many pro-independence activists decide to retaliate with the launching of "Operation Meteor" some 15 years later.
Sanc Kingdom
- History: Known between AC 180 and AC 196 (refer to AC Timeline)
- Objective: Total universal pacifism
- Oppositions: ESA, OZ, Romefeller Foundation.
- Importance: The Sanc Kingdom, one of ESA's member nations, holds a policy of total pacifism within its borders. King Peacecraft, monarch of the Sanc Kingdom, was influenced by the late Heero Yuy to uphold this total pacifism. Many of ESA's other nations support this ideal due to weariness of the constant battles on Earth. However, ESA did not tolerate oppposition and the kingdom was destroyed during ESA's millitary intervention. King Peacecraft died and the prince and princess are reported missing.
Gundams
- History: Between AC 195 and AC 196 (refer to AC Timeline)
- Objective: Dismantling of OZ for the protection of the colonies.
- Oppositions: ESA, OZ, Romefeller Foundation.
- Importance: The Gundams are sent to Earth in order to protect and free the colonies from the Earth. They are a major influence on how history is carried out in the AC era, as they are the last hope of the struggling colonies for prosperity.
