Wings symbolize transformation, philosophically. Wing and Heero both transform somewhat in the series. Notice in the beginning, Wing Gundam has rigid, square wings. In a way, Heero's veiw of life is the same - square and rigid. Black and white. As the series goes on, Heero begins to show a little more compassion, thanks to the other pilots and even Relena. To show this, Wing Zero was given a pair of rounder, fuller wings. And in EW, Heero has definately transformed quite a bit. To match Heero, Wing Zero Custom gets a pair of beautiful, feathered wings. Wing and Wing Zero can transform into Bird Mode. Birds symbolize hope on many different levels and you'll notice that Heero often has the hopes of others on his shoulders. • Duo to Deathscythe: Deathscythe was paired up with Duo to build up the whole "Shinigamatic alter ego" thing. In the series, Deathscythe has no wings - it looks rather plain, so to speak. This goes with Duo's harmless, plain appearence. When DH comes out, we've seen there's a little more to Duo than meets the eye. The wings are visible. In EW, DHC gets the bat-wing cloaking armor. By now, we know what Duo is capable of doing, good and bad. As Death can either be good or bad, so can Duo. [ More soon. :D ] |
