Environmental Issues
          Milfoil                            Hydrilla                  Zebra Mussel
Three major issues affecting many lakes in Michigan are the Invasive Weeds called Eurasian Milfoil, Hydrilla and the Invasive Species the Zebra Mussel

MILFOIL
Wall Lake has been treating Eurasian Milfoil for over 6 years and currently have it in check. It will likely never go away, but with proper vigilance we should see it kept at bay.

More information can be found by in a search for Eurasian Milfoil

Hydrilla
Hydrilla is considered to be the "most problematic aquatic weed in the United States" according to several sources. It is working its' way toward Michigan (already in Indiana). Read more about this potential threat in the May GWLA newsletter, do a Google search or check out the following web site
Washington State Dept of Ecology.

ZEBRA MUSSEL
The Zebra mussel is a very invasive organism that is transferred from one body of water to another in a drop of water, and thousands of larvae can be carried in a livewell or boat engine. An adult mussel can attach to a boat or trailer and live for several week out of water. At this time, there is no known way to eliminate or eradicate this mussel.
Please be absolutely sure that your boats and you visitors' boats are 100% rinsed and dry before entening Wall lake
