Welcome to SOS
-----------------------------------
My name is Gordon Jones and I wrote this program to help me learn Visual Basic (I have lots of experience with Visual FoxPro) and to show my kids that I *REALLY* do know how to write computer programs :-)

As the game development and progressed I added more and more features, until my wife said "Hey you should try and sell this, it GOOD!". So I've polished it up nice and put it on the Internet for you, my fellow netizens, to tryout. By all means if you like it and think I should continue to develop it send an appropriate 'donation' to the address below.

On with the details!
-----------------------------------

SOS is a strategy game, like Tic Tac Toe for adults with these differences:
- a larger grid (any size and shape of rectangle you want)
- players can use either an 'S' or an 'O' letter for their turn (use 'S' this turn and 'O' your next turn)

As a kid we would play this game on graph paper during the long bus ride to school (that was when buses became available and we were able to stop walking the 40 miles in the snow to school, up hill both ways!).

My version of this timeless classic lets you:
- choose from 6 different piece sets
- choose your own color schemes
- make the grid as large or small as you want, increasing the number of squares (the window can't be maximized and there is a minimum size)
- Play the computer at your choice of 3 different levels. (You have 2 methods of watching what where the computer will play next).
- Play against another person (here again you can choose the level of your opponent)
- enter player's names (up to 8 letters)
- either click 'S' or 'O' buttons to select the letter you want
OR just set the game to recognize:
'S' is a Left click of the mouse
              'O' is a Right click
- if you are using the Windows 9X/NT (32-bit) version you are also treated to a random sound every time a match is made. You can customize these by copying/moving/removing the '.WAV' files in the games folder/directory
- detailed Top Ten High Scores!
