Puzzling Part 2 (see 6/3/08 entry)
The puzzle table came out again. After several months of seemingly endless effort on the Christmas puppy puzzle and a few easier successors, we had been entirely jigsawed out. So Winnie was a bit concerned about how Gilbert would react to his birthday present- a MasterPieces "Chicago" 1000 piece puzzle with a cartoony image of Wrigley Field. We all decided to keep it and were impressed as much by the packaging as the puzzle itself, which had quite a number of odd shaped pieces including smooth edges that were not real edge pieces. The illustration on the poster was very helpful in locating pieces so we could group pieces as edge pieces, sky/water pieces, city pieces, field pieces, crowd pieces and roof pieces and do sections without spreading the pieces beyond what the card table could fit. And after a weekend, it looks close to being finished.
