Although the original intent of the trip was to honor the birthday of Winnie's mother, it happened to get scheduled during Josiah's actual 12th birthday.  That day we started by visiting Pearl Harbor.  Here we are at the USS Arizona Memorial with the USS Missouri in the background.   We walked through the Bowfin submarine park after the Arizona, but didn't go to it or the aviation museum as it was past noon and we still planned to visit the Bishop Museum.  Interestingly, although we were warned to go to Pearl Harbor early to avoid crowds, there had been a 20 minute line to enter the Arizona visitor center when we arrived at 8:30 but none when we left it at 11:30 or left the area at 12:30.
