When Denise made her way back to the home made fort, she found it very unorganized. Taking control, she sent Graham and Martine to one wall, Connor and Linda to another and Yalp and Pogo to the last two. She then walked around keeping everyone alert and on guard. They had two more attacks. The first was a single cyborg who came towards Martine and Graham. Denise had noticed that Martine had not fired her weapon when it was over and said,

"What are you doing?"

"One of my Mind Walker powers is domination. I can control other people's actions for a short period of time. I tried to control the cyborg. I can not explain it but it seems to be controlled by something else - maybe a machine.

"Do you mean the cybernetic implants are controlling the human?"

"No, I think it was an external control. And another thing, it seemed far away. At least I think so."

"All right, but next time use a gun." Martine smiled.

A couple of minutes after that a man came running towards Pogo's wall. Pogo yelled out,

"Half, friend or foe?"

The man yelled back,

"Friend if you are live, and dead if you are more of those machines."

Pogo rose from cover and said,

"Over here."

The man ran and dove into the shelter.

"Thanks" he said, "But I don't think you helped yourselves. There are about six of those things behind me." As he finished, flashes of total blackness started to destroy their shelter. Pogo returned fire and set the front cyborg on fire. The pirate beside him said,

No, don't! It will just keep coming!"

Pogo looked up again and sure enough the cyborg was on fire and still coming towards them. The pirate raised his rifle and blew the cyborg in half. He turned to Pogo,

"Grenade launcher", and gave him a big smile. "Too bad I only have two left and no bullets."

Denise and Connor came over at that moment and Denise proceeded to cut one of them in half with her sub-machine gun. It did not stop at once. She said,

"Go for the head, it should kill them faster!"

There were four left and they were firing frantically. Everyone had to stay behind cover and the cyborgs moved closer. Pogo waited until he heard a pause in the laser fire and jumped up on the wall. Wielding his axe he jumped down and split the two closest cyborgs head in two. Crystal went everywhere. Denise and Connor opened fire on two more and they quickly went down, while the last one got off a shot that hit Connor in the thigh. He went down and before Denise could get another shot off Pogo was fighting with it. Two half meter long blades had sprung out from the cyborgs wrists. Pogo was having a tough time defending himself with an axe against the quick wrist blades of the cyborg. Denise was trying to get a shot but they were both dancing back and forth. She had not noticed the little T'sa.. Yalp had jumped his wall and pulled his two Dait'sya and quickly moved behind the cyborg. At the same moment Pogo unleashed a furious combination of attacks and Pogo attacked by jumping on the cyborg's back. Then using his Dait'sya's he skillfully removed it's head.

Denise was amazed. After all, Yalp was very mature for a T'sa and to show such dexterous moves amazed her. Denise called,

"Back under cover. There may be more of them!"

They moved back into their shelter and took up their positions. Linda had moved to help Connor and Graham had moved to the open wall to keep watch. Denise went over to Linda.

""How is he?"

"He will be alright but he needs rest." She replied.

Denise picked up Connor's gun and handed it to the pirate who now recognized for the first time.

"You were on the War Bird?"

With his usual big smile, Suran answered.

"Yes, I am Suran and I am Captain Huntly's number two. I was on my way to my station when these things came out of nowhere. I was lucky to make it this far. Thank you."

"That's O.K. After all, you saved us first. Now I think you and I should go out and scout around."

Yes, that would be wise since it seems pretty quiet out there."

The two of them moved out and went from cover to cover. Denise reported back to the group every now and then. They had been gone about fifteen minutes when they saw a group of ten cyborgs taking about twenty pirates away. Deciding not to follow them they continued on. Turning a corner they walked right into a cyborg on the ground. Both thought him dead as he had one leg missing. Then Denise thought, no, they dissolve when they are dead. She motioned to Suran to come back. Denise checked his life signs and sure enough he was alive. They tried to disarm him as much as they could. Denise said,

"These cybor-implants are not normal. We should find out more about them. Plus, I am sure you would like to know who attacked you."

This was the first time Denise had not seen his broad smile, and it scared her. He replied,

"I will take him to our medical facility. You go get the rest of your group and meet me there."

They both went their separate ways and met up in the sick bay about half an hour later. As the group walked in they saw Suran, Huntly, a Fraal and another man which appeared to be the Doctor. Huntly said,

"Oh. There you are. We have to leave at once. The cyborgs have pulled back and we think they are heading back to their base." The Fraal turned to Huntly.

"Find out which one of those no good so called Barons did this. Then we will take care of them."

"This is Devriele Shanassin, the Administrator of this station." Devricle turned to them and said,

"My most sincere apologies for the greeting you received, and my most deepest thanks for helping us out."

While this was going on Graham had moved to the cyborg and was looking him over. He said,

"I will stay here and see what I can find out about these things."

Martine walked over beside him.

"Me to."

Denise looked at the rest but they were silent and that was all the answer she needed. They all wanted to go.
