Chapter Forty Six

Christine the under went the knowledge transfer. She basically had the same experience as Yalp. The whole process just amazed her. It was so simple, one second she did not know then the next second she did know. When she was finished she went back up to the treatment room and started to work on the two Cyborgs. As she worked she told Pogo about the knowledge transfer device, and showed him that she knew all about the implants in the two traders. They moved to the Operating room and she put them in a suspended animation. Then with out any hesitaion she started to cut into them. She probed and poked until she found the mind control devices. Then with a skill that she had not possessed before she disconnected them for the brain and took them out and tossed it at Pogo. Then picking up an instrument on the tray she used it to help with the tissue regeneration. When she was done no one in the Verge or the Stellar Ring would have known that these two would have had brain surgery. Pogo was looking at it and almost dropped it she said,

"Oh, do be careful, it has a very unstable power supply, it is sometimes used as a self-destruct." He looked at her and thought, 'Some joke,' then he walked out and back to Vergus's room. She watched Pogo leave and then worked on the other one.

When see was about half way though the operation Pogo came running back into the room and said,

"Is he totally secure?"

"Yes why?"

"Because the controller that you took out of the other one just came back to life." Christine looked down at the one that was still in Grady, and could see there was definitely some activity. She continued on with the upmost speed and got it out before Grady could come around. With the two controllers sitting on a tray Christine turned to Pogo and said,

"Do you think that we should destroy them? After all maybe they can find us through them?" Pogo thought for a second , then said,

"If they could they already know where we are. I think we should just get everyone together and wait to see what Denise and Connor finds at the Complex site."

Denise and Connor had left the hospital and were making their way to Grackless's Stronghold. They took there time checking carefully before moving as they did not want to run into any Robots, or Cyborgs. Do to the extra caution it took them almost two hours to get to where they could see the Stronghold. There was a large hold in the ground and a great deal of dust and smoke in the air around the hole. Through the dust and smoke they could see a few Robots, but they looked dead and there was also a couple of Cyborgs. The Cyborgs seem to be in a similar state to Finster and Grady, when Denise had found them. They were wondering around aimlessly, and some were even hiding from the Robots, even though they all seemed to be dead. Denise .signaled Connor that they were going to move to the right and get a better view of the area. They moved but everything seemed the same. When they had made their way to the other side of the crater, all of a sudden all the Robots came back to life. They also noticed that the Cyborgs all started working together and with the Robots. After a couple of minutes both groups moved off towards the north.

Denise said,

"What do you think, Should we follow?" Connor thought for a second then said,

"It looks like something or someone has control again. If it is not the Emperor, I think we should find out who it is." The followed the Robots, staying to as much cover as they could find. The Robots lead them to a large complex at the edge of town. Denise and Connor did some looking around and found it was well guarded but disorganized. There were times when areas where left unguarded and they could just walk right in. They watched the complex and the next time they saw an opening they took it. Trying to stay undercover as much as possible, they made their way up to the building. Checking all the door s they could they finally found one that was not locked. Denise looked at Connor as if to say, 'This is way to easy.' He nodded his agreement.

They walked in and found them selves in a huge automated factory. The factory was producing battle androids. There were at least three different types of androids, but there could have been more because from where Denise and Connor sat, they could not see the end of them. The first one was a human size infantry unit. It seemed to have more weapons then anything else. It stood on two legs and had four arms, two of which seeded to have some sort of staff weapon in them. The other two look just as dangerous, they both had Black lasers. Some of them had rifles while others had pistols and batons. Denise had seen these Black Lasers in action and knew they were not to be taken lightly. On the Units left shoulder was a small missile launcher with about 20 missiles. The right shoulder was a mystery. It had some sort of an armored box on it. Denise thought, 'Maybe it is a sensor array or a defensive field of some sort.'

Now they needed to get past the Infantry units and find who is controlling everything. They found a set of stairs that was leading up and used them. It was getting darker as they headed up and into the complex. This building was designed just for machines, there were no windows at all. There was a little light here and there from the machines but not enough to light up such a large area. It gave the whole place a very eire feel, between the alien technology and the low light. The technology in the complex was a combination of biological, the rock technology of the wormhole generator and what appeared to be similar technology to the Verge and the Stellar Ring but much more advanced. It seemed to work independent of each other, as the first floor had been Mechanical while the second was Biological, and the rock Technology was scattered through out. Denise was getting very uneasy and checked her weapon to make sure it was ready. Connor noticed her and did the same. As they were moving through the Complex, they rounded a corner and came into the light.

The light at first blinded them then as their eyes adjusted they could not be sure of what they saw. It was the most amazing thing Connor or Denise had ever seen. There in front of them in what seemed to be the storage area of the second floor of the Complex, were row upon row of multi-colored Dragons. They were laying down sleeping and Connor was not sure if they were real or machines of some kind. He looked at the beautiful beasts of myth and thought how amazing they are. They were about thirty meters long and about ten meters at the shoulder. From what Connor could see there were thousands, maybe even ten's of thousands. They moved to them and Connor reach out to touch one of the great beasts. Its scales were as hard as the hardest metal and as smooth as silk. They were not one color but a metallic rainbow of colors, changing all the time. He noticed that it was warm as if it were alive, but still it did not move, not even a breath. He pulled his hand back not wanting to wake the beast.

They moved to look in the factory and found numerous Dragons in different stages of completion. Now they could see the beast was half Mechanical and half Biological. Connor was looking through the construction process and noticed a few unusual parts being put into the Dragons. Also the construction method was not of a very high standard. He pointed this out to Denise and she said,

"Yes I noticed. Those parts you were trying to figure out, cause extreme pain in the beast, they are control devices, it will get a serious Zap if it does not do what it is told. As for the construction why worry about something you are just going to destroy any way." Connor looked confused, so she continued,

"There are to many Biological parts. These creatures must have minds of their own."
