Dave, Darren and Suzanne spent another night out in the Australian outback. It was a fascinating place. Dave spent most of his time with the laptop absorbing all sorts of information. He was mesmerized with his newfound abilities. After awhile Darren said,

"Maybe we should start looking into the Nissan Corporation. It could be the hardest place we have to break into."

They called up all the information they could find on it. Once they were familiar with the company, Darren took over the laptop and started hacking into the Nissan Singapore Complex. The place was huge, it had three large factories and six research labs. They found what lab the ship was in. The place was more secure then Fort Knoks. They eventually got into the research computer.

The research seemed to be going slow. They had not really found out anything. From what they read the ship was dead and they could not get into it. They had found the, for lack of a better word, the latch panel, but they did not know what to do with it. Suzanne read on then said,

"We have to get in there soon they have some tests scheduled that could damage the ship's memory. It could even shift into a protection mode thinking it might be under attack. This could cause a lot of damage and lose of life." Darren looked at her and said,

"OK, we leave tomorrow. We should be able to get a flight out the next day." Then Darren and Suzanne climbed up onto a big rock. They just lay there looking at the stars and holding hands. Dave spent his time delving into his newfound abilities. He wanted to know everything he could about them. He hooked up to a medical database and started to research into how the mind worked. he was amazed at how little anyone knew about how the mind worked. He did find some interesting work that had been done but the American government mainly the CIA into increasing the minds ability to process data, but they had given it up or so the article said.

Denise had got the first message from Dave and was happy to hear about the CSS. Though she wanted to know more about why the military grabbed up some of the ex-CSS operatives. With the help of the DCD she got into the military database. She started by looking up Special Projects. This was a huge file. She started to look through them and found that the Canadian military was into a lot of dirty stuff. They had one weapon they were working on, it was a sound wave weapon that could cause a heart attack. They were also working on a force field generator that could protect a target from both energy and matter weapons.

Then she came across something called the Universal Weapon. She looked into it and found the whole thing was incredible. Though implanting of computer components they had re-animated humans who were dead. They could be completely controlled or put on automatic with a mission to perform. There was a file with a photo journal of the whole procedure. She opened it to find it was Denzel. My god he is sort of alive. She called to Christine and said,

"Come and see what I have found."

Christine came into the room and sat down at the monitor. When she looked at the screen she could not believe her eyes. There was Denzel's face well sort of, it now had some sort of device where his eyes had been.

"What is this we are looking at?"

"This is a military special project called Universal Weapon."

"This could be the answer to a problem Graham and I have. We need a security force as well as a work force for our mobile lab. Does the project work?" Denise flipped through the latest report from the project administration team. The report said they had four functional units, but the report was six mouths old. It also said they were going to run some tests to see if their immune system was resistant to all types of illnesses.

Christine said,

"That is it. We are going to be there specialists in disease immunity, then if they meet our needs we will steal them away somehow."

"What are you crazy? You can not just walk into an ultra security military base and just walk out with their proto-types."

"No you are right, that is why I am going to get them to give them to us."

Denise looked confused as Christine walked out. She went down stairs as she knew Graham was down in the pub. She walked in through the kitchen and grabbed a cup of tea on her way through. Making her way out to the bar she sat down. She said,

"Graham I think I have the answer to our man power problem. Denise found an old friend of ours who might be willing to help."

"Who is this dare devil?"

"Why it is our old friend Denzel."

"What, he is dead. How can he help us?"

"Well it seems he is being used for a special project called Universal Weapon." She then went on and told him all they had found out. It took a long time to get Graham up to speed on what she and Denise had found as he was tending the bar in the pub at the time.

He said,

"It sounds like you all ready have a plan so what is it?"

"Let me work some of the kinks out of it first." He nodded yes and she took his laptop to a table and started working. She had been at the table for about eight hours when she finally said,

"OK, the kinks are out of it. Do you want to know what you are in store for?"

"I don't know it sounds pretty ominous for someone who can't tell a lie."

"Well I am getting better especially in cyber space."

She then told him about the Universal Weapons and how they were benign tested for disease immunity. We are going to do the testing. Then we will find some reason to take them with us. It should not be too hard.

"So what do you think?"

"It sounds good when do we leave?"

"We should be able to wait until the mobile lab is ready. That should add to our credibility."

"Is there anything I should do in the mean time?"

"Yes study everything you can on all diseases and there treatments."

"OK, but I was doing that anyway."

Dave, Darren and Suzanne left the outback and headed back to Sydney. It took them a whole day, but the time gave them a chance to make all the arrangements they would need. The cover in Singapore was that they were a visiting technical support team with special knowledge about the Silver Ships. That was true enough that they should be able to pull it off. Dave was fascinated with what he could do with the computer. Darren asked him to make the travel plans and Dave got back on the computer and did it. He said,

"I never really trusted these things. Now I know why. If other people could do this, then nothing would be safe. Though now that I am in control, I like it." Suzanne laughed.

When they got to Sydney they made their way right to the terminal to catch there fight. The flight to Singapore was not very long and the group used the time to learn three different dialects of Chinese. They thought it might come in handy for over hearing conversations. When they landed at the Singapore airport they made there way to the baggage claim area. Before they could get there they saw a man holding up a sign with their name on it. They stopped in front of the man and Darren said,

"Do you speak English?"

"Yes sir, I have been sent by Nissan Corporation to pick you up. I am to take you to your accommodations at the complex and then to a meeting with Dr. Lim Leung the project coordinator. If you will follow me your luggage is being taken care of."

"Good what shall we call you?"

"Oh excuse my rudeness, my name is Larry. I will be your guild and translator while you are here."

"Great lead on Larry," said Dave.

They followed Larry out of the front doors. A driver jumped out of a stretched dark green Jaguar Limo. He ran around and opened the door for them to get in. They climbed in and were quickly moving away from the airport. The Limo driver seemed very experienced even though they had a couple of near misses with other cars. Darren said,

"Is the traffic always like this?"

"No the traffic is light right now as most people are at work," said Larry.

The drive to the Nissan Complex was about 20 minutes. They pulled up to a large walled complex. The gate looked like it could stop a tank. There was also a guard tower right next to the gate with two machine gun toting guards. The driver accessed a panel with a security card. The doors then started to open, but very slowly. When the doors were open the car drove into a holding area. Larry said,

"This area will scan for any unauthorized chemicals. Then a guard will come and visually inspect the car. It is a pain when you are in a hurry, but it is very necessary. We had someone try to smuggle a bomb in about a week ago."

"I did not know that competition was so strong among the Japanese corporations."

"Oh yes, they think of it as a big game. The problem is that there are no rules to the game or even anyone to enforce them. This means that ever year countless people get hurt or even killed."

"Now I understand the need for such strict security," said Suzanne. Larry just nodded his head.

They drove up to what looked like a couple of apartment buildings. The car stopped and there luggage was taken out . Larry said,

"Your luggage will be taken to your rooms. We will be back soon, but the project leader is waiting." The car drove on and they went deeper into the complex. After another five minutes they pulled up to another building. Larry opened the door and held it open for the group to get out. Then he led them into the building, through the lobby. He had to insert a security card in order to call an elevator. They got in and Dave noticed there were buttons for about thirty levels even though the building had only been about ten stories high. Larry pushed the button for the 22 floor down. They went down at lighting speed. It took only a couple of seconds to get to the floor. The doors opened and they walked onto the floor. Larry led them down the hall and to an office door. On the door was a sign in Chinese that read Project Manager Lim Leung. Larry knocked on the door and someone said,

"Come in," in Japanese.

They walked through the door and an oriental man rose from behind a desk. He was a medium height and wore glasses. His features where thin and sharp, but he had a friendly smile on his face. He pointed to some chairs and the group sat down. When they had all found a seat the man came out from behind this desk and stood in front of them. He said,

"Hello," in a very soft voice. "I am Professor Lim Leung of the University of Peking" Darren then introduced the group. Professor Leung then asked,

"What do you know about our project?"

Dave looked at the other two and they both nodded. He said,

"We know of all your research and that you finally found the latch to open it up. The problem is you need someone who can communicate with the ship also."

"What? How do you know all of this?"

"We have a security clearance that is far above yours and we have worked on these ships before."

"Now stop all your tests you have planned and we will help you with your problems." He looked at them and said,

"Who do you work for and don't tell me it is the Nissan Corporation because that would be a lie."

"Lets just say we are consultants and that is it. Now do you want our help or should we just go back to who hired us and tell them we were not needed?" Lim looked at them for a couple of minutes. He was quickly trying to decide if he could get away with kicking these people out. Then a look of resignation crossed his face and he said,

"OK, so what do you suggest?" Suzanne looked at him and said,

"First we need to see your set up." Lim got up and lead them out of his office and back to the elevator. Getting in Lim put his security card in a slot over the buttons and pushed the button for the lowest floor. Once there he put his card in again and a panel opened at the bottom with another button. He then pushed it and they went down another floor. When then stopped, the back of the elevator opened, and showed a very large open lab. In the middle of the lab was a Silver Ship.

They walked out into the lab and saw the ship was hooked up to every type of analysis equipment known to man. They walked over and started to look at the readouts. Suzanne decided it was going to take a little bit of work to get it up and running. She moved to the latch and after a couple of minutes she got it opened. The door and ramp formed and she entered the ship. It was the same as the one at SMI, but at the same time seemed different. The ship at SMI had a feeling of power that was missing here. Out side the ship all hell broke lose, they had not been able to get into it on it was open. Technicians were running with equipment to get it into the ship before anything happened.

Suzanne moved to the artificial Intelligence control area. She tried to activate it but found there was a problem. The ship told her it needed a specific metallic compound for its repairs. The ship also explained that it needed the compound quickly as it was running low on power. The element that was needed was part of its energy conversion unit. With out it the ship could not convert any type of energy to its usable form, and there were no useable forms of energy on earth for the ship. Suzanne explained to the ship that she would need something to trade for the compound. A small drawer opened in the control panel and inside was a computer tape. The ship told her to use the tape, it has plans for an operational fission reactor. These people would die to get those plans, but they will only be able to get at them if the ship is fully repaired in time. If not it will be erase them as its last act.

Suzanne thought this computer does not act like the other one. It seems to think it is superior to us. She took the tape and walked out of the ship. She found Professor Leung. Walking up to her, she said,

"I have a deal for you. The ship needs a specific compound in the next 24 hours or it will deactivate for good. In return it will give you this."

"What is it?"

"Plans for a fission reactor." Lim's eyes almost fell out of his head. He knew what a functioning fission reactor was worth.

"Can you get the compound in the next 24 hours? If not the tape will erase itself, and you can not access it until the ship is repaired."

"Well it looks like I have no choice."

Lim picked up the phone and Suzanne dropped the tape onto the counter in front of him. She was walking towards the elevator and found Dave and Darren standing there. Suzanne explained the situation and said,

"I don't think it will be a problem. Lim knows he has to get the compound or no plans. I don't know about us if the ship deactivates though, we could be in serious trouble with Mil and the council."

"How can the ship give them those plans I thought we could not have anything above our own technology level," said Dave.

"Maybe the ship does not know that."

"Or maybe someone on earth has all ready figured out a fission reactor," said Darren.

" I don't think the ship is going to give them any thing. It is hard to put into words but this ship is different from the one at SMI. It almost has an evil feel to it," said Suzanne. " We can not do anything until the compound shows up."

Graham had been studying everything he could find on any sort of disease for the past couple of days. He probably knew more about both natural and man made diseases then anyone on the planet. Christine had found out all she could about the Universal Weapon. The project was unbelievable, they were taking dead bodies and re-animating them under government control. They were made to be expendable and could be programmed with any knowledge and skill. They were perfect for Graham and Christine's needs. The mobile lab was ready and the two of them went to get it. Taking a commercial flight to the factory in France, they found a nice little hotel to stay in. After a good night sleep the two of them headed to the factory where the plane was waiting. They were both checked out to fly it. That took them two days, and the first time Graham was trying to land he almost crashed it. The two of them finally got the hang of it and left for Canada. Back in Canada they flew to the secrete base outside of Ottawa.

Flying to the base they knew they were going to have to land on a small parking area. They got to within twenty minutes of the base and they radioed in. Telling them what they would need in the way of a landing area, and also that they would be there in about twenty minutes. As they flew to within sight of the base they saw that a landing area had been established. The landing was a little shaky, but from the outside it probably looked smooth, at least none of the twenty soldiers that were there laughed.

They disembarked and found a major standing there waiting for them. Walking up to him Christine said,

"Major I would appreciate it if you could assign a couple of men to keep an eye on our lab."

"Yes of course." He then waved at two MP's stationed by the plane. They came running over,

"Yes Sir."

" Take your squad and watch this plane until a detail comes to replace you."

"Yes Sir." They saluted and the major turned back to Graham and Christine.

He then led them inside the underground complex. As they were walking he said,

"My name is Major Mike Webber and I am in charge of security for this project. You have been given the highest security clearance and I am at your disposal."

"Thank you Major," said Christine. "I am Christine and this is Graham." Graham stuck out his hand to shake the Majors. He took it and gave it a good solid shake. The Major then said,

"I will take you to the control room now. There you can meet with Professor Brown. She can show you all the technical stuff."

The complex was huge and they used a little golf cart to get around. He drove them to an elevator and down they went. It seems that anytime they go into one of these bases they had to go into the bowels of the earth. They went down for quite awhile and Christine said,

"How deep is the lab?"

"It is about 2000 feet below the surface. It use to be a control bunker in case of nuclear attack."

"I guess those are out of date considering all the disarmament treaties being signed lately?"

"We are putting most of them to go use though."

They got to the bottom and he drove the cart out of the elevator. Then heading down a long corridor they eventually came to a large vault like door. The Major used an electronic key to open it. Walking in they were in a control room. The walls all had large windows in them and they could see into a lab of some sort. There was also a door that lead into the lab, it looked as if it had a sterilization field on it. There was also a great deal of human monitoring equipment in the control room. Sitting looking at the monitors was a woman. She had on a lab coat with short shapely legs coming out of the bottom of it. She turned to see who had entered, seeing the Major with two people she got up and walked to them.

"You must be the disease specialists we have be waiting for you."

"Yes I am sorry we are late but we wanted to bring our new mobile lab."

"I hear you made quite a stir with it."

"If you would like to see it you are more then welcome to look it over."

"I would like that."

"So how about showing us what you have been up to here. We have seen your report but they were not that technical. I figure they were written for non-medical personal. It does look very promising though."

"It's more then promising it is successful."

"You mean you have animated one."

"No, we have animated six."

She walked them over to the window. Then pointing out the six bodies on the medical beds. They where hooked up to all sorts of monitors.

"Can we take a look?" said Graham.

"Yes, after all that is why you are here." She led them to the door. Step through the door and a sterilization field will activate. When the light turns green you can go in." Christine went through first, the sterilization field took only a couple of seconds. She walked out and Graham walked in. Then Professor Brown followed. Once they were all in the lab Professor Brown lead them to the first table. Christine and Graham almost jumped out of there skin. there on the table was Denzel. He had some mechanical and computer modifications to his body. One of his eyes had been replaced with some sort of optical set up. His arms also looked like they had been modified some how. He was covered from the waist down with a sheet so that was all they could see.

Christine asked,

"Is he sedated?"

"Yes, well for lack of a better word. They are in what we call the rest mode. It is an induced almost comma state."

"Can I check out his vital signs?"

"Yes, but everything is monitored. Here let me show you." They walked to a computer and she punched up Denzel's charts. Both Graham and Christine looked them over. From what they could tell he looked perfectly healthy. He was obviously asleep, no more then asleep. Christine walked back to the body and put on a stethoscope and checked out the body on the table. She then moved to the next table and looked at the person lying there. She did not know who it was. They looked identical to Denzel in their mechanical and computer enhancements. After checking her out Christine found the woman was also asleep.

She moved down the line of beds and to her surprise in the fourth bed was Angie. In the next bed to Angie was Jeniffer. The last bed was the biggest surprise of all. There was Chico with all the same modifications as everyone else. Christine checked them all out and found them to be in above average health. They did some simple blood work on them to find out what there immune systems were like. When they were finished with the tests and looked over the results, Graham noticed that their immune systems were exceptional. They probably could not contract any disease that naturally occurred on the earth.

They had spent most of that day looking at the biology of the Universal Weapons. They found that there were biologically just humans, but probably the most physically advanced humans ever. When the day of testing and lab work was over. They went to the mess and had something to eat. Christine and Graham could not really talk because Maurine, Professor Brown was there. After dinner they went out to the plane Christine said,

"So what do you think, are they perfect?"

"Oh Yes! They are perfect, but have you thought of a way to get them out of here."

"Well not exactly, how about you." Graham just shook his head. It had been a long day so they went to their beds.

The next morning Dave and Darren asked Larry to take them on a tour of the complex. They wondered around and saw the ultra modern automobile factory. Its work force was 90% robotics. Then about lunchtime they made it to a main cafeteria and met up with Suzanne. She said,

"The compound has arrived, we can make the repairs to the ship right after lunch." They had their lunch then headed for Lim's office. When they entered he was sitting behind his desk with a large canister on it. He handed it to Suzanne and said,

"Here is what you asked for, now what?"

"We go down to the ship and it will make its repairs. You will have to be very careful after the repairs are made. That is when it will be able to leave, but if we don't it will shut down, and the plans will go with it. So now is your last chance to change your mind."

They looked at him as he weighed the pros and cons of his decision. He said,

"If I can get what's on the tape I will take my chances on anything else, even losing the ship." Lim lead them back down to the lab. Suzanne took the canister into the ship and activated the artificial intelligence. It told her to put the canister into a section of the wall. It looked solid, but when she pushed the canister into it, it moved right into the wall. With in a couple of minutes the ship seemed to come back to life. Suzanne put her hands up to the wall of the ship. She wanted to talk to it. It was different though the ship would not talk to her. She could feel that the ship was mad at her, no not at her but humans. The sensation was amazing the scout ship had developed emotions. The problem was she could only sense negative emotions. This made her a little nervous and she quickly got out of the ship.

As she did she told everyone to get back. The door on the ship closed up and Suzanne got the impression the ship was laughing. Not a pleasant laugh, but one that was full of malice and hate. She yelled for everyone to get under cover. At that moment the ship started to rise. When it got to the roof it activated some kind of high-energy heat shield. Suzanne was standing there mesmerized as the ship was melting it's way out of the under ground facility.

Darren saw that she had not moved and ran out to get her. He grabbed her and pulled her to a reinforced monitoring room. Not 10 seconds after he had pulled her into the room a glob of molten rock fell right where she had been standing. There was silence in the room as the ship melted its way up to the surface. Suzanne still in Darren's arms he turned to face him and said,

"We have unleashed a monster on to the universe. That ship is mentally unstable." Dave got on the laptop and contacted with Denise in the DCD control room. He explained what had happened and told her to warm Mil about the ship. She said,

"Are you all right?" Dave said,

"Yes were ok."

"Be careful and contact me as soon as you are out of there." Dave signed off and then he hacked into the system that monitored the building they were in. He found the building was not in to bad a shape. Dave said,

"The back stairs look to be in good shape, lets head towards them."

There was still things falling though the hole in the roof, but if they stuck close to the walls they should make it. Dave explained all of this to the people in the control room. Lim said,

"This is crazy we should wait for the rescue team." At that moment a large section of the ceiling decided to cave in. The cloud of dust and mangled metal blocked their view of the room. Dave said,

"You can stay here if you want but I think we should get out of here as soon as possible." Lim nodded and they moved out in single file. They were about half way to the door when Dave yelled,

"Get down." The three of from Toronto hit the floor at once, while the rest took a few seconds longer. Just as most of them hit the ground, a large light fixture hit the ground. Glass went flying everywhere. Two of the technicians got hit with glass. Darren went to one, while Larry moved to the other one. The one Darren was looking at had a large cut on his forehead, but seemed all right. He looked over at Larry and saw a large piece of glass in the neck of his man. Darren ripped up his shirt and made a bandage for the wounded technician. They got him up and got on the move again. They made it to the door to the stairs. Dave grabbed it and pulled on it only to find it was locked. Lim handed him his security card and Dave tried the door again. It still would not open, so he looked the door up on the computer layout of the building. He said,

"Shit, this door automatically locks down when ever something unusual happens. I am going to try and over ride it." He played with the computer for about ten minutes, then they all heard the lock click open.

Moving quickly up the stairs they eventually got to the main floor. They entered the lobby, seeing that there was a great hole in it. The ship had obviously moved through here. Larry said,

"There is a back way. It must be safer then this." He led them out through the back of the building. When the group got out side there was a combined sigh of relief. Dave noticed that Professor Leung did not look very happy to be out of there. He said,

"What's up Doc, we are out and safe?"

"What have you done? How am I ever going explain this?"

"Just give them the tape, that should shut them up."

"Well that would work if I had the tape, but it was in my safe in my office. My office was right over the lab."

The group smiled and walked back to their rooms. Larry was with them, they all had a drink and asked Larry to book them out on the next flight.
