Chapter Fifteen

Graham and Christine worked with Professor Brown over the next couple of days. They test the Universal Weapons for resistance and immunities to man made diseases. They found that they had natural immunities to all but the most deadly diseases. The night before they were going to leave, Graham and Christine talked in the plane. Graham said,

"They are perfect but I still do not know how to get them out of here?"

"We can not steal them we have to get them to give them to us," said Christine.

"OK, lets get on the computer and see who is in control of this project."

Graham got onto the computer and started to access the files for the project. After about half an hour Graham found that the project was under the direct control of the Prime Minister of Canada. Graham said,

"That should make things simple, we can have orders to Professor Brown by the morning."

"I don't know Graham what if someone checks up on the orders."

"Good point we have been pushing it with all the fake orders. I will have the orders float all over the Canadian military computer system and maybe even in to the United Nations computer system. They will find so many ghosts they will not know what is going on. So why don't you go to bed, I will call you if I need you." She went to her cabin and got some sleep while Graham work into the wee hours of the morning. About six in the morning he went to bed and got a couple of hours of sleep.

He was woken to someone knocking on his cabin door. Looking at his watch it was only nine in the morning. Getting up he made his way to the door and opened it. There was Professor Brown and she was not happy. Graham wiped the sleep out of his eyes and said,

"Good morning, you look a little upset. What is wrong?"

"This," and she thrust a piece of paper at him. He read it, it was the orders to give four of the Universal Weapons to Graham and Christine.

"Oh that. The Universal Weapons are perfect for our Project."

"Why what is it that you do?"

"We are a first response team for disease control. That is why we have this mobile lab."

"So why use the Universal Weapons?"

"They have an advanced immune system that makes them perfect for this work. We would like to work with you on this, but if you fight us we will have to set up our own facility to monitor and control the Universal Weapons. If you work with us you will get to monitor them in the field as well as see their progress. So what do you say?" Christine had come up behind him while he was talking. Professor Brown was thinking it over. Then she said,

"It would be a good chance to test them in the field without anyone getting hurt. OK, I am with you. When do you need to take them?" Christine said,

"Things are quite right now but we do need to make some modifications to their sensor units. We are up against an enemy who is releasing viral infections into different areas of the world."

"You are kidding, someone is actually waging a bacterial war."

"Yes but we can not talk about that."

They then headed into the lab and Christine picked four of the six to be modified. She picked the four that they had known, Jeniffer, Angie, Denzel and Chico. They worked on the four of them and modified their sensors so they could do security and analytical work. They were given weapon tracking in their eyepieces as well as infrared imaging. They were also given some chemical sensors. The final thing was to hook them up to a communication control center in the mobile lab.

The whole thing took about four days to get them all done. Now they had a six-man team. Christine said,

"You know we need one more person. Someone who could keep track of the Universal Weapons," or UW as they had started to call them. "I think we should tell Maureen what we are up to and get her to be part of the team."

"She is defiantly open minded enough to see the truth in what we would be telling her. I hope she can handle, but she is a good scientist so maybe she will be open minded enough," said Graham.

"All right but don't tell her to much. I think she can handle it but who knows how people will react to the information that the planet is going to be attacked by creatures from outer space."

After they had decided to tell her Graham, sat up putting all the information together that they would need to convince her. This took him a couple of hours to put it all together. He then went to bed. The following day Christine checked it over and said,

"It looks good but I think it may make her ask some questions we can not answer or should I say we do not want to answer."

"I don't think that can be helped. If anyone told you this, you would wonder where the information came from."

"OK, then let's do it."

Christine got on the phone and asked Maureen to come to the plane. It took her about five minutes to get there. She walked in and Graham got her a coffee. When they were all comfortable Christine said,

"We did not tell you the complete truth about what we do. Yes we are involved with disease control and the diseases are not natural, but what we did not tell you is that the diseases are not, man made either. They are extraterrestrial." Graham then started to show her the presentation he had put together on the Greys. The presentation lasted for about an hour with Maureen asking the odd question. He then explained that they believed they were trying to kill off the human population so they could have this world. When they were finished she said,

"This is an elaborate put on, right?" Graham and Christine both shook their heads no.

"You mean to tell me we are under attack by aliens."

"Yes, now we have told you this against orders because we feel you can help us. It must be kept top secrete, no one and I mean none of your staff or friends can know about this."

"Oh, I understand, I don't think they would believe me anyway."

They went on and told her that they were a first response team. Their job was to find any disease that had been introduced in the area and destroy it. If it can not be destroyed then we are to at least to create a vaccination against it. Maureen said,

"That is dam near impossible. How do you expect to do this?"

"With a lot of luck and a great deal of skill and perseverance."

"I don't know if it is possible but I will help."

They then went to work modifying the plane to have room for the UW's and also a room for Maureen and her equipment. When this was all done they got in contact with Chris in Toronto. They told him that everything was ready. Chris said,

"Good but that might not be your only problem. Dave Darren and Suzanne had a problem with a scout ship they activated in Singapore. They think it has gone mad. We contacted Mil and he said it happened once before. They are looking for it now but have had no luck. It may have taken off for the great unknown or it may blame the planet for its condition. If so Mil says, it may attack us openly or it may know of the Greys and help them. Mil has helped us modify our tracking device so we can track in coming ships of all kinds. It even has a program that will identify them. This should allow us a chance. Mil's planet is also going to send some one here to coordinate with us, personally I hope it is Mil. Well that is about all the good news I have, I will see you in Toronto in a couple of hours."

Christine and Graham look at each other and thought, 'as if things were not bad enough.' They then did the finishing touches to the plane and got ready for take off. They told Maureen that they would be in touch with her as soon as they heard anything. Then they climbed into the plane and Graham said,

"OK, captain take her away." Christine looked at him as if to say are you crazy. "You have to be able to do this in case anything happens to me once we our out in the field. After all you are checked out on the thing." She took the controls, then going through the preflight check, every thing looked all right so she started to lift off. Her take off was much smoother then Graham's landing. Graham said,

"Well we will see how good you are when it comes to landing this baby." He then went into the back and got a coffee. The flight to Toronto was as smooth as silk.

Christine was rubbing it in a little bit when all of a sudden there was a silver scout ship in front of them. Christine pulled the ship into a hard turn to the right. This did not do any good the ship was still in front of them. She screamed as they were about to hit. Graham jumped into the other seat and took the controls. He started to climb over the ship then at the very last moment he dropped it into a steep dive. They went under the scout ship by only a couple of feet. Graham said,

"Can you still see it." Christine was looking out all the windows. She said,

"No, it is gone, I think. What was that all about?"

"I don't know and why didn't Chris or Denise give us any advanced warning? Can you take over again or do you want me to take it?"

"You take it, I am going to contact the control room and see what is going on."

She got her cell phone out and called the control room number. There was no answer.

"Something is very wrong there is no one there. We have to get back to Toronto as fast as possible." They flew into Buttonville airport and landed the plane. They secured the plane and then headed for the pub. It did not take them long before they were in the control room and found it in a shambles. The equipment had been destroyed there were wires and pieces of the equipment all over the place. Christine phoned Denise's home number to see if she was home. There was no answer, so they tried Chris's number, the same thing no answer.

At that moment there was a cough from someone behind them. They both spun around ready to take who ever it was apart. Graham thought, 'it is the old man from the pub that night.'

"What can I do for you sir this is not part of the pub?"

"Yes I know, I thought maybe I could help you."

"How can you help us?" asked Christine.

"Well if you close the blinds while I get the door I will tell you." Graham moved to the blinds while Christine watches the man very closely. When the room was secure from outside eyes the old man said,

"Two of your friends are missing, I know where they are."

Graham and Christine were silent.

"You see I was sent here to help you but I got here just a little to late. The scout ship has taken them to a Grey's base on your planet. We did not know that the Greys had a base on your planet or we would have warned you about it."

"How do you know all of this unless you are either a Grey or one of Mil's people."

"You are right I am not from your planet and thank your lucky stars I am not a Grey. I am not one of Mil's people I am Mil. It is a pleasure to finally meet you in person." Christine became very light headed and had to sit down. Graham said,

"My life is getting weirder and weirder all the time. Now I am meeting up with aliens to have a beer in a pub. How long have you been here watching us."

"In your years? Oh about 5000 give or take a couple of hundred here and there." Christine said,

"You talk very strange?"

"I guess I get that from living here for so long. Now back to the problem at hand. I know where your friends are but I can not do anything except with the scout ship. You will have to take care of the Greys and free your friends."

"Ok, so where are they?"

"The Greys secrete base is in Africa. In the Congo to be more specific. They are in the rain forest in the north west part of the country. It is very sparsely populated and they sort of have the support of the local tribes. They think the Greys are some sort of Gods. It will be very hard to deal with them in that area. They also have the support of some big landowner in the area. I think your best hope is to go in as a covert team of some kind."

"Oh great is this all we are going to do for the rest of our lives is break into bases of some sort or another. Well we had better get Dave, Darren and Suzanne back here," said Graham.

"I can do that," said Christine. "Why don't you see if you and Mil can get some of this equipment up and running again."

Christine went into the other room and got onto her cell phone. She called Suzanne's phone, it took a couple of minutes for the signal to get through but eventually she heard Suzanne voice. Christine said,

"Hello, Suzanne this is Christine we have a real problem back here in Toronto. You guys have to get back here as quickly as possible."

"What is going on? Why are you not contacting us over the DCD?"

"Well the place has been a little trashed by some visitors we had. They also took Chris and Denise to a base of there's in the Congo. It looks like we are going to have to go in there and get them back."

"Ok, we will be back as soon as we can catch a flight. If you get the DCD up and running send us an up date." Christine then hung up and called Maureen.

"Maureen this is Christine we are going to need the UW's for a mission as soon as possible. How long will it take for you to get them ready?"

"Give me 24 hours and then come and get us. Oh, by the way, I tested them on a small project. They built you a new landing pad. It is just by the parking lot where you landed last time. The four we modified performed perfectly." Christine then said,

"Great but I have to go, good-bye," and moved back into the control room.

"Everything is a go with the UW's. It will take about 24 hours for their final preparations. Maureen will be ready with them at the landing pad they have built for us. I also contacted Dave and the others they will be back on the first flight."

"Good, now lets find out what we are up against?"

They got the DCD up and running again. Mil showed them a security feature that they had not known about. It records all that happens around it. An image comes up on the screen it is Chris sitting in the control room reading a book. Everything looks normal then all of a sudden the monitoring device goes crazy. Chris gets up and goes to it. Looking it over he finds that not only is there a Grey ship in the area but also the Scout Ship is near. Chris checks over the monitoring machine to try and figure out why they had not been detected before they were right on top of them. Not finding anything wrong he calls down to the pub and asks Denise to come up.

When Denise gets there she at once sees what is going on. She gets on to the DCD and try to contact the two groups. First she tries to get in touch with Graham and Christine because they are only in Ottawa. She can not get through and turns to Chris and says,

"This is really weird, I can't get in touch with Graham or Christine. Do you think the Ships are jamming our transmission?"

"I don't see how they could be, they should not even know we have this equipment." Denise then tried to get in touch with Suzanne and her group but got the same thing no response.

"OK, now I know something is wrong. Where are those ships now?"

"The scout ship seems to be between us and Ottawa. Do you think they are after Graham and Christine?"

"That would be a pretty safe bet. What is the other one doing?"

"Oh no, the computer says it is coming this way, right at us. You get out of here while I try to get in touch with the other groups. There is no sense in letting them get both of us."

"Chris you can't do that?"

"Well maybe they do not intend to do anything bad. One of us has to stay here and find out while the other must get some place safe in order to get help if that is necessary."

"OK, but I do not like it."

"That's all right neither do I. Now go down to the pub and keep a lot of people around you."

Denise left but before she could go anywhere all the doors to the office slammed shut as if blown by a large invisible wind. The office got deathly silent then all of a sudden the building started to shake. They thought they were in the middle of an earth quack. Then the lights went out. They were being thrown all over the office and equipment was falling everywhere. Chris yelled to Denise who was still by the door holding on,

"Lock the door maybe we can keep them out somehow." He then sat down at the DCD. One hand holding on so he did not go flying while the other tried to get in touch with Mil. The screen was still dead he could not raise anyone. Denise had got to the door and was locking it when suddenly the door opened and there was this beautiful golden light. Graham and Christine could see that Denise and Chris were some how mesmerized by the light. Then something that looked like an alien out of those tabloid TV shows, walked out of the light. It's eyes were as black as coal and it's skin was a sickening Grey color. It's body and arms were very thin as if they were just skin and bone. It had three fingers on the end of it's arms and wrapped up in one of these hands was what looked like a walnut, but it was the size of a soft ball.

The alien threw the walnut at Chris. It hit him in the chest and exploded. Denise screamed and her trance seemed to be broken. She through herself at the alien, attacking it wildly by punching and kicking it she was savage with her attack. The aliens were not built for physical violence and it was quickly over come by Denise. She quickly went to Chris and found him completely engulfed in some sort of green slim. She touched it and found it to be almost rubbery. She noticed he was still breathing. Then she remembered what he had said about one of them getting away in order to warn the others.

She left the control room only to find another Grey coming towards her. She quickly jumped on it and quickly beat it unconscious. These Greys were not so tough as long as you stayed away from there mesmerizing light and their walnut goo bombs. The way was clear after that and she made it to the stairs. That was the last they saw of her as she was out of range of the DCD's security scan. The scan then went back to Chris trapped in his green goo cocoon. The DCD showed that he was still alive, but in some sort of suspended animation. They watch for a couple of more minutes then saw that the first Grey Denise had attacked got back up. It moved in to check on Chris then it moved to the back of the DCD. That is when the screen went dead.

Christine turned to Mil and said,

"I thought you said they took them both, from this it looks like Denise got away."

"I did not think any humans could resist the effects of the mesmerizing golden light. If she did I would like to know how? We must find her it could be the only salvation for your planet." Graham, Christine and Mil ran down to the pub. When they got there they found Denise sitting at a table with a bottle of rye in front of her. They all sat down with her. Christine sat beside her and put her arm around her and said,

"Denise," she looked up and said,

"They took him, he made sure I got away and now he is gone." She looked up into Christine's eye,

"We have to get him back. He made it so I could get away. He knew I could not be away from Jessie again. Christine we have to get him back."

"Don't worry Denise we have already put a plan into motion, and Dave, Darren and Suzanne are on their way back to help us." She seemed to come back to life at hearing that and Mil said,

"Denise it is very important that I know how you broke the golden light spell."

"I am not sure, I just saw what they did to Chris with that large walnut looking thing and I got mad. Once I was mad enough the whole thing did not seem to hold my attention any more."

"That is it. A strong emotional state can brake the mesmerizing effect. We just have to find out what emotions will do it and how strong they have to be. This could change the whole face of the universe, just think of it. If all those planets that the Greys have under their control can brake free the universe as we know it will change drastically. You could become the savor of hundreds of enslaved planets." Denise looked at him,

"You mean I could be the savor of the universe. Now that is something to tell your children," she said with a sarcastic tone to her words. "I don't care about all those other planets. I just want to save this one and get Chris back."

"Ok, well we can do that now. We just have to run a few tests and see how we can beat the golden light."

Mil then said,

"Denise come up to the control center and I will run the tests. It will not hurt and should only take about a couple of hours."

"All right but I want Christine to come with us."

"Sure anything you want." The three of them went up stairs.

Graham checked in with Darren. Darren told him that they would be back in about six hours. Graham said he would pick them up at the airport. Graham thought that if they were going to brake into the Greys base they would need some special equipment. This would be a good time to go and get it. He got onto his laptop and hacked into the Metro Toronto Police database. He was looking for information on people who could supply you with what ever you want. He found a couple of people who met his criteria, one was not very far away. Graham went out and jumped into his Jeep. He had, had a secret compartment built into his Jeep. In it he kept a butterfly knife and a 9mm Beretta. He put the knife in a small sheath on his belt at the small of his back while the pistol was put into his jacket pocket. He then drove to the bank and took out $50,000.00 now he was ready to go shopping. He drove up to Richmondhill and found where this supplier of anything lived.

He had seen in the man's file that he had dealt with the CSS in the past. That was what Graham was going to use to get through the door. The man's name was Baz. It did not say if that was his first name or last name or if it was just a street name. Graham parked the Jeep around the corner from his house and got out. He walked the last little way making sure he was not followed or that he was not being watched. He noticed a truck parked down the street that did not look right so he walked past the house he was going to. After he was about ten houses past he cut through a back yard and started to make his way back to Baz's house.

He made it to the back yard and noticed a very big dog standing there looking at him. The dog did not bark or even growl at him it just looked. Graham gave the dog his hand to sniff and it did. He then climbed over the fence. The dog did not move it just looked at him. Graham then made his way to the back door and knocked ever so quietly. He did not want to start off on the wrong foot with this man, as the file had also said that he was very dangerous.

A man came to the door and said,

"Who is there?"

"My name is Graham and a friend of mine at the CSS said you might be able to help me."

"Who was this friend of yours?"

"Jeniffer," there was a long pause after that and then the door opened.

"Jeniffer was one of my favorites at the CSS. How is she doing?"

"I have some bad new, but she is dead."

"Who killed her?"

"Chico, but she took him out at the same time."

"That's my Jen, she would never let anyone get away with killing her." He then stepped aside and let Graham into what looked like a kitchen. As Graham passed the man he noticed he was almost six feet tall with long black hair in a ponytail. He had the type of looks that women would find very easy to look at.

"So what do you need?"

"A lot of stuff and I hope you have it in stock."

"If I don't I can get it for you in 24 hours, or deliver it any where in North American."

"Wow that is pretty impressive. I need assault weapons for eleven people with lots of ammunition. I also need infra vision and night vision goggles with built in weapon tracking and video feed to a control center. If possible I also need them to filter out certain types of light. I need a communication system for eleven people and it also has to be able to filter out certain sound. Can you get your hands on any magnetic pulse guns?"

"My god you do not expect much, what are you going to do invade the United States? No I do not really want to know I was just talking out load. I can get you everything you want but I need to know the specific light wave you need filtered out or I will not be able to help you. As for the magnetic pulse gun I wish I could get you one of those."

"If you let me use your phone or I could us my cell which ever is better for you I will get you the wave length of the light I need filtered."

"Us the cell phone you obviously saw my watch dogs down the street. Well they feel my phone is public domain." Graham used his cell phone and called to the office. Christine answered and Graham said,

"Can you ask Mil what is the wave length of the gold light. I am in the process of getting us some protective eye ware." He could hear her talking to him and then she came back to him and she told him the wavelength. He wrote it down and thanked her. Then he hung up.

Graham gave the piece of paper to Baz and said this is the wavelength. Now how much is this going to cost me? Baz had been doing the calculations while Graham was on the phone and handed a piece of paper over to him. Graham looked at the sheet and it had on it $100,000.00. Baz said,

"That also includes a 10 % discount for being Jeniffer's friend."

"That is great, now how long will it take to get all this equipment. I will also need you to deliver it? Is that going to be a problem?"

"Well that depends on the availability of the lenses for the tactical goggles. Let me make a phone call and see how long it will take my man to do it?" He then picked up his cell phone and punched in a number. Baz talked to the person on the other end for a couple of minutes then turned to Graham and said,

"How important is it that you have them within 24 hours?"

"It is very important and money is not a problem but don't go over board."

"OK," he got back onto the phone and talked some more. Then he hung up and said,

"They will be there in 12 hours, how is that?"

"Actually it is quite unbelievable, how do you do it? No I don't really expect you to answer that."

"Good because if I told all my customers how I did it then they would go out and do it for themselves."

"You are right, so let's talk about delivery. I need it to go to the airport in Buttonville and be delivered to a specific plane. When it is delivered I will pay the other half is that acceptable?"

"Yes that is more then acceptable. Usually my customers what to get away with 10% down and the rest on delivery."

"That seems hardly fair, after all you are a business man. The only thing I am worried about is the delivery and the security. I really can't afford any problems with the authorities."

"That is not a problem, the police down the street still think they have gone undetected, well so much for that."

"Well it looks like you have everything under control. It is a pleasure to do business with a professional. I hope we will be able to do some more business in the future. Can I ask you something before I leave? What is with that dog of yours? Don't get me wrong he is a beautiful dog but all he does is stand there and look at you."

"Well that is because you are not a cop. He is an uncanny animal he can tell if you are a cop or even a informant at lest 90% of the time."

"That is amazing where did you get him from?"

"You will laugh he use to be a drug dog with the RCMP."

"No, you have their dog sniffing them out, that is to funny. You are definitely a piece of work. You have my cell number, so you can call me at least an hour before delivery so I can be at the plane with the money."

"No problem, it should be early tomorrow morning."

Graham then left the way he had come in, on the way out he stopped to pet the dog in the yard and had a little laugh. Checking his watch he noticed it was time to go to the airport and pick up the second team as they should be landing soon. Graham then made his way back to his Jeep and started out to the airport. It took him awhile as he was not familiar with Richmondhill, but he made it to the airport just as the flight from Tokyo was landing. The second team had caught a flight from Singapore to Tokyo then on to Toronto.

Graham waited at the arrival lounge for his friends to clear customs. It did not take them very long as they did not have many pieces of luggage and were Canadian citizens. When then came through Graham flagged them over and when they were all together he led them to his Jeep. They made their way back to the pub. The group did not go to the pub but went straight up stairs to the control room. When they got there they found Christine waiting outside of the office. She said,

"Mil thinks he may have found what they are doing in order to mesmerize the different species. It seems to be a combination of both the wavelengths of the light and a sonic vibration. Then seem to work on the mind to make it go blank and susceptible to suggestion."

"Well that is great because I order some equipment today for our visit to our friends. I got them with filters for that specific wave length and also communication equipment that has the ability to filter out certain sounds."

"Great," said Darren, "so we can just walk right into their base with out going blank and ending up under their control."

At that moment Denise and Mil came out of the office. Denise said,

"I am really ready for a drink, all that testing and probing of my mind made me think way to much. So who is buying." Dave said,

"I will, as I own a bar right near here." The group all laughed then they went down stairs and had a couple of drinks. Christine asked,

"Mil do your people Drink or indulge in any sort of unhealthy stimulus like alcohol?"

"Oh yes we have something called Putoo, it is a liquid that we rub onto our skin and it is absorbed through the skin. It is a slight stimulant but with long use it causes skin problems. We are not perfect, just more technologically advanced."

They sat there and talked like they use to when they had all worked at Frankie Tomatto's. It was like old times and they all relaxed for a change and maybe even drank a little too much. For they knew that tomorrow they were going to go to war and if they lost it could mean the end of mankind.
