After a good night sleep at the villa everyone met on the back verandah for breakfast. They sat quietly each to their own thoughts. Angie and Chico had been secured in a special room in the basement and Jeniffer was still week, but made it to the breakfast table, with Marie helping her. Denise said

"I have to get back to Toronto and make sure Jessie is OK. I am going to call her today."

"You can do that, but you are going to have to be very careful. You will have to go to a major hotel so it will not look suspicious for a phone call to Canada. I am sure the people from SMI can monitor the phone lines. They must have people in the government here who will help them try to find us," said Jeniffer in a very soft and week voice.

"All right, but I want to call today, I need to call today. I need to know Jessie is all right."

"That can be arranged, we just have to be careful. We can take you to a major hotel, or how about the Canadian or American embassy," said Graham. Darren then said,

"We should also see if Angie is willing to fly us back to Toronto for what ever reason."

"Yes, she may have some hidden agenda that we may be able to use," said Jeniffer. Suzanne said,

"I think Jeniffer and Darren should do that while Denise, Chris and I go to help Denise, to make her phone call."

"What am I suppose to do?" said Graham.

"You hold down the fort."

They finished their breakfast and Jeniffer slowly walked them out to the garage. She said,

"take the Jaguar. There is a weapon store under the back seat. When you are out of the car keep the tranquilizer guns with you at all times." She explained to Chris how to get at the weapons. Chris hopped into the back seat and took out three dart guns. He then handed one to Denise and one to Suzanne. Jeniffer said,

"Drive around for awhile to make sure you are not being followed, but also make sure you always know where you are."

Suzanne started the car and drove out of the garage. They headed into town. Driving around for about half an hour until Denise said,

"OK, enough get me to a phone, I think we are safe." Suzanne started the car off in the direction of the tourist section of town. She headed for a very exclusive hotel. They drove up and a valet came out to park the car. He handed Suzanne a ticket and they went into the hotel. Chris went to a newsstand and picked up an English newspaper. He paid for it and sat down, not really reading he watched Denise as she almost ran to the phone.

Suzanne made her way to a seat in a little café in the lounge. She ordered a coffee and sat where she could see Denise. Denise got to the phone and dialed the number to her mother's house. It took a few minutes and her mother answered the phone. They talked and Denise assured her that she was OK. She then talked to Jessie and made sure she was being a good girl. Denise told her she would be home soon. Chris came over and told her that they should get going. Denise said her good byes and hung up the phone. She then said,

"I have to get home, I miss her so much."

Suzanne signaled Chris to move outside. She thought two men near the reception desk were paying just a little to much attention to them. When the two men followed Chris and Denise, Suzanne followed the two men. Chris took Denise to a little café next door and got a seat in the window. The two men took up separate positions from which they could watch the café. Suzanne watched them for a couple of moments then decided she had to dart them. One was sitting on a bench reading a newspaper. Suzanne casually walked up and sat down beside him. She took out the dart gun and concealed it under her jacket. When the time was right she darted him. He started to lean forward so she pushed him back as she got up. To the casual observer he still looked as if he was reading his paper. Suzanne was amazed at how calm she was.

'One down and one to go,' she thought. The next one would not be so easy he was standing at the mouth of an alley. She walked along trying to look like a tourist. Walking into the alley a few feet she then turned to the man and said,

"Excuse me signor, do you speak English." The man turned towards her and she put on her most innocent smile.

"Yes I do, can I help you?" Suzanne had a map of La Paz in her pocket and pulled it out. She said,

"If you could just show me where I am on this map I would be grateful." The man walked down the ally to stand beside her. Suzanne had the dart gun under the map and shot him. He went down and she pulled him behind some garbage cans. She quickly went through his pockets and found his wallet and a gun. She took them both.

Then she quickly made her way to the café where Chris and Denise were waiting. Sitting down with them she said,

"It is all right now. There were a couple of men following you but I put them to sleep." She then pulled out the man's wallet and said,

"This was one of them." She opened the wallet and looking through it She found his id. He was with the CSS and also had a security pass for SMI. Chris said,

"They didn't waste anytime. I wonder why they are looking for us so hard. Do they think we got something from the ship or is it because the ship helped us to escape and they want to know why?"

"It is probably a little bit of both," said Suzanne.

"We should get going," said Denise. They made their way back to the villa without any problems.

Darren and Jeniffer had headed down to the room where Chico and Angie were being held. Darren had to help her, as she was still a little weak. They walked in and found them awake and lying on a couple of cots. Jeniffer summoned all the strength she could and said,

"Now here is the deal. Angie if you fly us back to Toronto you can go free. Chico is going to the police and that is much better than what I had in store for him. What do you say?" They both just laid there for a couple of moments. Then Angie said,

"I will do it, but I need at least 48 hours from when we land in Toronto to when you hand Chico over to the police. Is it a deal?" Jeniffer looked at Darren and he nodded yes. Then she said,

"OK, it is a deal, you get 48 hours before we hand him over to Metro's finest. I will also send Marie down with some food. Don't mess with her Angie, she never liked you and might just kill you by accident." Darren and Jeniffer then walked out and locked the door behind them.

When Jeniffer and Darren were back upstairs and had asked Marie to take food down to Angie and Chico. Graham said,

"We should get in touch with Dave and Betty. They might have something planned to get us out of Bolivia."

"That's a good idea," said Darren.

Graham then said,

"Something really weird has happened. I was sitting here reading this plane manual. I don't know what that thing did to us but I read the manual in about five minutes. I think I can now fly the plane. I could fly us out of here if I had to. The knowledge I got from the manual is only technical but I seem to be able to apply it to different situations," Graham paused. " It seems we have been given some sort of mental powers. These powers seem to allow us or me to learn things very fast and retain it in it's full." He then handed the book to Darren and said, "There you try it?"

Darren read the manual from cover to cover in just a matter of minutes, all three hundred pages of it. When he was finished he said,

"You are right. I could definitely help someone fly a plane and after watching a little bit I could probably take over. This is amazing." Graham said,

"Yah we could probably get home on our own. Though maybe Dave has something in the works to get us out of here." Jeniffer said,

"Good I don't know if I want to trust your new found powers to far, but how are we going to get in touch with them?" Darren then looked at Graham and then back at Jeniffer.

"Don't worry about it we will take care of that. Do you have a computer hooked up to the web?"

"Yes, it is in my office, but they can be traced."

Darren and Graham left Jeniffer sitting there and went to the office. Once in there they noticed a shelf full of technical manuals on all aspects of computers, networks and the inter net. They read them all in less then half an hour. Then Darren said,

"I have an idea. Why don't we use the computer at SMI to contact Betty and Dave. They would never suspect their own computer."

"That is great," said Graham. Then they got on to the computer and started to hack into SMI's computer system. While they were in there they downloaded all the information on the silver ship.

Then they sent a message from the computer at SMI in code to the police computer and addressed it to Betty. With the message they sent a decoding program with a password. They thought, what could the password be that she would understand but not anyone else. Then Darren said,

"I have it, tell her the clue is her favorite reporter now make the pass word DAVE." The message gave all the information they had found out since they had left Toronto. The message also told of their adventure at SMI. They also included how she could get in touch with them. Then Darren sent the message.

Then looking at the information they had downloaded from SMI, but it was not much they did not already know. The Project had been strictly Canadian and their biggest concerns had been keeping the Americans out. The Project involved trying to force the artificial intelligence out of the ship and into a person after they got the person out of their body and into a computer. This they hoped would allow them to control it. This was what Project Zombie was all about. Darren and Graham each made a copy of the file.

Latter they checked to see if Betty had replied. She had, and told them about the arrangements they had made with a friend at the RCMP, so if they needed help, they could go to the Canadian embassy. Once there they were to talk to the head of security and mention her friend's name, Wendy Long. That will let them know who you are and they will help you if they can. Darren then printed out the message and went off to find Jeniffer.

Darren found her and said,

"I have an idea. It seems Betty has set up a contact in the embassy in La Paz. I was thinking why don't you take Chico there and that should pull some of the heat off of us. Then we can get out in the plane." Jeniffer looked at him and said,

"OK, but what will happens to me?"

"Well if we are not around no one will know what you did. I think you have more then made up for trying to kill Suzanne and me. What do you think?"

"That should work and I won't even lose my job, and I should even redeem my reputation with the RCMP." Then while they waited for Chris, Denise and Suzanne, they planned how they were going to get their prisoners to the embassy. When the three got back from making the phone call, they told the rest about the adventure they had.

All this time Christine and Jason had been in bed, talking. Christine said,

"I can not go back to SMI. If you want to go, it's OK, but I think you should come back with us."

"I don't know, if I leave will I be able to get a job there?"

"In Canada, of course you can get a job." They discussed it for awhile, but Jason decided to go back to SMI. He got up and got dressed then made to go down stairs. Christine grabbed him by the back of the shirt and pulled him back to bed. Once she had him there she proceeded to show him the finer points of making love. The teachings of Christine had started at about six in the morning, when Jason had started back to SMI. She finally let him go at noon, but he was so tired he could barely walk.

Jeniffer drove him into town where he could get a taxi out to SMI. His story was he took Christine to the airport for an emergency flight home, and that she would not be back. Then he got out of the car, into a taxi, and was gone. Christine came down and said,

"Can we go home now?"

"Yes, we are going tonight."

"Good, I want to get out of here. Jason has gone back to SMI. I want to get out of here as soon as possible. This place will holed nothing but bad memories for me, well maybe a few things went right." Then a smile came to her face as she thought about that morning.

Christine, Denise and Suzanne went out onto the back verandah. They spent the day talking and drinking. After all that had happened to everyone lately they needed to unwind and have some fun. By dinnertime they were laughing and having a good time. They had a light dinner and afterwards Jeniffer said,

"Is everything ready?" Chris nodded yes. She then headed down to the secure room and saw through the window, Chico was sitting on his cot. Angie was lying on the floor and her body was in very unnatural position. She opened the door and said,

"What did you do?" He looked up at her with the devil's own evil in his eyes.

"No, witnesses," is all he said. Jeniffer went crazy and jumped on him. She was a lethal weapon but her hatred and her injury were making her sloppy.

The blows were exchanged at a furious pace, but most were blocked. A few did manage to get through. Chico was staggered by one of Jeniffer's kicks but managed to still protect himself. He then went on the offensive. Jeniffer was knocked to the ground by a sweep kick and hit her head. From the sound she knew she was hurt bad. She then made a last ditch effort and pulled her gun. When she got it out, she saw Chico moving to take it away from her. She at once fired two shots just as she had been trained.

The shots hit Chico right in the chest and he was dead before he hit the ground. At the sound of the shots Marie came down to see what had happened. She found two dead bodies and Jeniffer was badly hurt. Marie went up to the kitchen to get a first aid kit. She found Graham in the kitchen and said,

"You have to come with me." Graham followed her, and they went down to the cell. Graham went to Jeniffer and rested her head in his lap. Graham yelled,

"Christine get down here!"

"Graham it is no good I am dying. Here take this key it is for a safety deposit box at the Canada Trust in the Scarbough Town Center. Make sure Marie gets half and then split the rest in your group. Use the money to get these bastards and make them pay!" Then she took a key from around her neck and gave it to him.

Christine showed up just as Jeniffer's eyes closed. Christine checked her over then she shook her head no. Graham said,

"Christine get everyone ready to go, we are leaving now. Marie give us ten minutes then call the embassy and ask for the head of security, use the name Wendy Long. They should send someone to help." Christine left and Graham continued, "Marie, Jeniffer wanted you to have something from Toronto, can you come and get it?" Marie shook her head no. "Will you be staying here?"

"Yes. I have nowhere else to go. Jeniffer gave me sanctuary here from some problems I had in the past."

"OK, I will send what ever it is to you here. Just write down the address for me." Marie took out a small note pad and did as she was told, then handed it to Graham.

Then Graham went up stairs and found everyone was getting ready. They were packed and out of the house in ten minutes. Taking the Land Rover they drove to the airport. On the way Chris said,

"What are we going to do?" Darren explained about their new abilities and that he and Graham could get them back to Toronto. Chris said,

"Are you crazy?" Darren then through the manual at him and said,

"Try it yourself."

Chris made his way through the manual in about five minutes. He said,

"This is unbelievable. You are right I could probably fly that plane myself."

"I think Graham should do it because Angie gave him lessons on the way down here." Chris nodded and it was settled as they drove up to the airport. They made there way to the hanger where the plane was kept, but as they drove up to men in suites walked out. Chris said,

"They are from SMI, I remember seeing them."

"What are we going to do? They must have found the plane," said Suzanne.

"We are going to keep to the plan and if they get in the way we will deal with them," said Denise. "I have to get home and see Jessie." As she said that she reached into the back and got a pistol out of the weapons store. She then looked at everyone else and said,

"Who is with me?" Chris was the first to nod yes, but the rest quickly followed suit. Chris then handed out weapons to each of them. Christine said,

"I will only take a tranquilizer gun. I want out of here but I will not kill anyone in order to get out." Chris gave her the only tranquilizer gun in the weapon store. Once at the hanger they noticed that the two men had made there way to the plane. Darren said,

"We have to stop them before they can do anything to the plane." Graham put his foot down on the accelerator and sped up beside the plane. The group all jumped out and pointed their guns at the two men. Suzanne said,

"Don't move or we will have to shoot." The two men turned towards the group and started to go for their guns until they saw they were out numbered. Then they slowly pulled out their guns and put them on the ground, kicking them over to the closest member of the group. Denise then said,

"All right now get over here so we can tie you up." The two men moved and Denise tied them up and through them in the front seat of the Land Rover.

They then loaded the plane up with their gear. Once everything was loaded and everyone was seated Darren and Graham went through the pre-flight check. The whole thing checked out so they got permission to take off. Graham and Darren looked at each other as if to say this is it. They did everything by the book and were in the air in minutes. Things went very smooth and the two of them got practice flying until they were coming into Houston Texas.

Bringing the plane in slowly with Darren calling out elevation and air speed Graham was doing fine. Graham slowly brought the plane to within ten feet when a warning buzzer sounded. They both looked down and almost broke out laughing. They had not lowered the landing gear. Darren quickly lowered it and the buzzer at once stopped. The landing was smooth after that and they pulled right up to the fueling depot.

Everyone got out and stretched their legs. It was also a washroom break. When the plane was ready to go they all climbed back aboard and were about half way home when a message came over the radio. The message was from two F-14 Tomcats that flew up on either side of them. The message told them to land at an airport that was about ten minutes north of their position. Darren asked,

"What is all this about?"

"I do not know, but I have orders to make you land if I have to." Darren looked at Graham and said,

"So what do you think?"

"I think we are in serious trouble. Also we do not have much chose but to land."

They found the airstrip and called the tower. They had priority for landing. As they got closer Darren said,

"This is a military base. What could they want with us?" Graham started to land as Darren moved into the cabin and told everyone what was going on. By the time he was finished, Graham had landed and was pulling up in front of a hanger he had been told to go to.

Suzanne who had been seated at the back of the plane opened the door. She found about 20 marines with their rifles aimed at the plane. She thought, 'shit this doesn't look good.' Turning to the rest of the group she said,

"We have a reception committee waiting for us." Everyone moved to look out the windows. Suzanne said,

"Lets go and find out what this is all about."

They walked out of the plane. Graham being the last one out closed the door. A man in an officers uniform stepped forward and said,

"You are the group that escaped from SMI in the UFO?"

"UFO, we don't know anything about a UFO." said Suzanne.

"Don't play games with us. We know exactly who you are and what happened down there."

"If you know so much why are you holding us prisoners?"

"You misunderstand you have been brought here for your own protection."

"Protection from who?" said Denise.

"Why from anyone who has one of these ships of course. You are the first humans they have ever made contact with."

"So I still do not see who you are protecting us from and why?" said Denise.

"If you will follow me I will try to explain everything to you."

He then moved towards the hanger. The group looked at each other then followed him into the hanger. They all stopped once they were inside the door. There in the middle of the hanger was another silver ship. This one was on the ground and seemed dead. The uniformed man turned to them and said,

"We are not the only ones with a dead ship. We can not even get into it." He paused for a couple of seconds then continued. "There are at lease four other countries with dead ships. They will want your information so they can get any technology they can out of them."

"What do you expect from us?" said Chris.

"We need what information you may have to help reactivate the ship. Then we can study it."

"That could be a problem. We can not tell you how to activate your ship; I will have to do it myself. Your other problem is the ship will probably leave as soon as it is fully functional," said Suzanne.

"That is a risk we are willing to take."

Suzanne looked at the rest of the group. They nodded and Suzanne started to walk up to the ship. The uniformed man said,

"Wait, we are not set up to monitor the ship right now. If you could just open it up so we can take a look around. Then we will have an idea of what to expect." Suzanne moved to the front of the ship and said,

"I do not know if this will reset the ship, are you sure you want me to do this?"

"Yes continue on, we will make do if anything happens." Feeling around she found what she was looking for. She pushed her hand into the metal and a door with a ramp appeared.

About 20 technicians started to running towards the ship. Suzanne pulled out her hand and walked back to the group. She said,

"You have about 24 hours. Then the artificial intelligence will come back on line, but only if I am out of its short-range sensors. So if you do not mind we will be leaving now."

"What if it doesn't work, will you come back and help us with it again."

"Well that depends on weather you kidnap us or invite us. I am as interested as the next person in these ships, but I will not be intimidated into helping you. Oh I should also warn you these ships can be very dangerous. They have a very interesting assortment of defensive systems. The ship will be in contact with me through telepathy as soon as it reactivates. I can not control it, but as you know they are willing to help us for some reason, so we had better be out of here. If it does not activate I will be in touch with you. Just give me your number and we will be on our way." They could see that the uniformed man did not like this situation, but there was not much he could do. He had seen the power of these ships earlier in his career; one had almost wiped out a whole squadron of fighter.

The uniformed man lead them back out to their plane. They at once boarded it and were on their way home again. During the flight back to Toronto Suzanne said,

"That ship had been shut down in an accident. It had made all the repairs it needed a long time ago. It just needed to be rebooted and will leave once it is fully functional."

"Those military types will not be happy, when it just takes off. They think they can do something to stop it but no matter what then do it will be gone before they know it." Then she paused for a second. "Do you think they will come after us?" said Denise.

"Who knows?"

The rest of the trip was quiet and most of the people tried to get some sleep. They landed at Buttonville airport just north of Toronto. Dave, Betty and Wendy were there to meet them. They headed to a bar all except Denise who said,

"I have to go home and see Jessie. I will see you soon." At the bar everyone ordered a drink and the rest of the night was spent in telling their story. Wendy told them that the situation at the Villa in Bolivia is being credited to bandits. The cover-up had started all ready. Then Suzanne said,

"If they can cover that up, what's to stop them from coming after us?"

"We are going to bring you in to the station. There you will make a full statement. That should keep you all safe because the last thing these people want is to be brought out into the light."

"Do you really think that will be enough?"

"There is not much more we can do, unless you want to be taken into protective custody."

"No I like what little privacy I have," said Darren.

The group slowly started to break up and go home. The last ones there were Darren and Suzanne. Suzanne said,

"You know how we were talking at the villa." There was a pause while they both remembered the conversation. "I think tonight would be a good night to finish off that business." The two of them got up and walked out hand in hand. They made it back to Darren's and the night proceeded very similar to the first time. Though when Suzanne came out of the washroom this time Darren was wide awake. He proved to be very attentive and the night was full of caressing and soft wet lips.
