RULES
So, you wanna join the GWF, huh? Be a part of the next big thing? Wise choice. However, be prepared to follow the rules...
MATCHES
We(The head guys AKA the GWF BoD)make and post matches on the proper message board and day, but all RPs, whether they be promos, interviews, backstage attacks, or whatever, are posted by you, the member.
THE BOARDS
Each message board has a specific purpose. The INTENSITY board, FINALE board, and PPV boards are where matches for those shows will be posted (all PPVs are on the same board). This is also where you can post RPs (such as promos or whatever) for the corresponding show. The Backstage board is where you post general RPs, or RPs between the actual shows (this is where the brunt of acutal RPing happens). This does NOT mean it has to be a backstage promo or something; if you want to go out to the ring in your RP or not even be at the arena at all, that's fine. The Meeting Room board is for "official" discussions regarding "business" of the GWF, and is almost always OOC. Finally, the lounge is completely OOC and you can talk about whatever the hell you want.
CHAMPIONSHIPS
The part you probably skipped to. This is what it's all about...here's a basic rundown of the rules for each title:
GWF CHAMPIONSHIP: The most prestigious title in the GWF. To hold it is to become a GWF legend.
INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP: Basic singles title with no special rules involved. Considered the step before the GWF Championship.
TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP: Mid-level Singles title. Used to be European title with a rule that only non-US challenges could hold it. With that rule becoming defunct, the belts name changed.
CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP: Your wrestler must be under 235 lbs. to compete for this title.
EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIP: An unpredictable title which is defended only in hardcore-style matches (no DQ, Street Fight, HiAC, etc). The belt can also be won on the message boards (gets complicated: see "THE 24-7 RULE", below).
TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP: This one doesn't take much thought; it can only be held by a tag team and only defended in tag-format matches (team HiAC's, Ladder Matches, etc. also count).
SUBMISSION CHAMPIONSHIP: Another self-explanatory one. The title can only change hands by submission.
THE 24-7 RULE
As anyone who watches pro wrestling knows, a Hardcore championship is defended 24-7, with impromptu matches happening all the time. This is translated into the GWF through the message boards: any time the Hardcore champion makes a post on the BACKSTAGE board, you can jump him and pin him for the title by posting an RP in which you do so within 30 minutes of his post. In other words, if SilverPycho is the champ, and he makes a post on the Backstage board at 5:30, you can pin him for the title by posting an RP of doing so by 6:00. This applies to RAW and SMACKDOWN boards as well on the proper days: in other words, any post on the RAW board on Monday, and any post on the SMACKDOWN board on Thursday.
CHARACTER CREATION/RP GUIDELINES
Not a whole lot here, just a few odds and ends. As far as character creation goes, just follow the application and you should be fine. There are no special rules involved. You MAY use a real wrestler or created wrestler, though we encourage anyone using an existing person to put some kind of original spin on them (a new gimmick, slightly altered persona, new moves, SOMETHING original). For example, you'll find that the Rob Van Dam who wrestles in the GWF is quite a bit different from the WWE's RVD. As for RPing, there aren't any real rules: profanity is OK as long as you don't go overboard, there is no minimum/maximum length, you are free to use other characters in your RPs, etc. Finally, if you wish to interfere in an upcoming match, simply E-mail the Commissioner stating what match you want to run-in on. Nine times out of ten , it'll happen.
***One Last note: If you quit the GWF for any reason we retain the rights to use your character to our discretion. For example announcer, interviewer, jobber, referee, etc.***
