| Hilde Schbeiker Organization / Civilian Hilde is one of the idealistic young space colonists who respond to OZ's overtures toward the space colonies, signing up with the military in order to defend the colonies' newfound independence. An encounter with Gundam pilot Duo Maxwell shows her the error of her ways, and she eventually becomes Duo's ally and helpmate. Endless Waltz Hilde pops up very briefly in the closing scenes of Endless Waltz. The main point of this cameo seems to be to assure us that Hilde, last seen being borne away on a stretcher after a harrowing escape from the White Fang's stronghold, isn't dead. Age / 15 Catherine Bloom Organization / Civilian A talented acrobat and knife-thrower, Catherine is the star performer of the circus troupe that serves as Trowa's cover. Both disturbed and fascinated by the dispassionate newcomer, Catherine soon takes Trowa under her wing and comes to think of him as a surrogate little brother. Endless Waltz In Endless Waltz Trowa's "big sister" and her circus troupe find themselves at the space colony X-18999 during the Mariemaia Army's uprising, where they become hostages of the rebel forces. Fortunately, they're soon rescued by Preventer agent Sally Po. Age / 17 Master Winner Organization / Civilian Quatre's stern father, the senior Winner runs a thriving colony-construction business with the help of his 29 daughters. He is a committed pacifist who disapproves of Quatre's participation in the fight against the Alliance, and when OZ presents itself as the liberator of the space colonies, Master Winner's opposition to militarism places him at odds with the people of his own space colonies. Rasid Kurama Organization / Civilian The hulking leader of the Maganac Corps, Rasid is unfailingly loyal to the kind-hearted Quatre. When the Gundam pilot arrives on Earth, Rasid becomes his aide and guardian, and while the young master is away he leads the Maganac Corps in their own guerilla war against the forces of oppression and tyranny. Endless Waltz Rasid remains by Quatre's side in Endless Waltz. It would appear that the life of a construction foreman suits him just as much as piloting a mobile suit into battle. Maganac Corps Organization / Civilian A forty-member fighting force led by Rasid, each of whose members has his own customized mobile suit. Its three most recognizable members are Abdul, Ahmad, and Auda, whose Maganac mobile suits are distinguished by their oversized shoulder armor, large skirt armor, and immense crushing claw respectively. Endless Waltz Quatre's loyal minions remain by his side in Endless Waltz. In addition to Rasid, the familiar trio of Abdul, Ahmad, and Auda accompany "Master Quatre" on his madcap interplanetary chase. Long Shirin Organization / Civilian The wizened leader of the Long clan and ruler of Wufei's home colony. In keeping with the clan's proud warrior tradition, she would sooner die than surrender to tyranny. Doctor J Organization / Civilian The goggled cyborg Doctor J is one of the motley quintet of mad scientists who created the five Gundams. At the behest of space colony resistance leaders, each of the five scientists created an advanced Gundam mobile suit, trained its pilot, and dispatched it to Earth to wage guerilla war against the Earth Alliance. Doctor J is the creator of the Wing Gundam, and the patron of the boy code-named Heero Yuy. Twenty years ago, Doctor J and his fellow scientists created the first mobile suits for the Romefeller Foundation's OZ subsidiary. When colony leader Heero Yuy was assassinated, they quit the project and went underground. Over the years, their pacifist idealism has been warped into cynicism and bitterness, and in their zeal to avenge their martyred hero they've decided to forsake his peaceful beliefs and use violence to achieve their goals. Professor G Organization / Civilian One of the five mad scientists who created the Gundams, Professor G is the designer of the Gundam Deathscythe and an expert in stealth technology. Like Duo, his agent, he is a member of the Sweeper Group salvage organization. He is distinguished by his immense mushroom-shaped mop of hair and his improbably large nose. Doktor S Organization / Civilian Another of the five mad scientists who created the Gundams, Doktor S is Trowa's patron and the creator of the Gundam Heavyarms. He sports a peculiar prosthetic nose. Instructor H Organization / Civilian Instructor H is yet another of the mad scientists who created the Gundams. As a guest of the Winner family, he recruited Quatre as a pilot and used the family's resources to create the Gundam Sandrock. He evidently failed to clean up after himself, leaving some very valuable data on the Winner family's computers. Master O Organization / Civilian Master O is one of the five mad scientists who created the Gundams. As an advisor and tutor to the Long clan, he trained Wufei for his role as a Gundam pilot, and gave him the Shenlong Gundam to help him in his mission of justice and vengeance. Of imposing stature and bald as a cue ball, Master O is by far the most intimidating of the five scientists. Howard Organization / Civilian A member of the salvage organization known as the Sweeper Group, this old engineer sports a jaunty attire of Hawaiian shirt and jazzy sunglasses. Currently plying his trade aboard an oceangoing salvage ship, Howard provides a safe haven for Gundam pilot Duo Maxwell. But this cheery fellow harbors secrets of his own... Minister Darlian Organization / United Earth Sphere Alliance Relena's foster father is an Alliance vice minister for foreign affairs, responsible for the ongoing negotiations with the space colonies. As such, he is a steadfast advocate for peaceful coexistence with the colonies. Though his work frequently takes him away from his family, he is a devoted and affectionate parent to Relena, and his revelation that he is not her true father comes as a great shock to his adopted daughter. As we eventually discover, before joining the Alliance government, Darlian was an official of the Sanc Kingdom and a trusted aide to King Peacecraft. When the kingdom was occupied by Alliance troops thirteen years ago, he smuggled the infant Relena to safety and raised her as his own child. Field Marshal Noventa Organization / United Earth Sphere Alliance The supreme commander of the Alliance military, Noventa is old enough to remember the noble ideals that once motivated the Alliance, and as relations with the space colonies have become increasingly strained he finds himself leaning ever more towards a peaceful solution. But no sooner has Noventa decided on a policy of peaceful negotiation and gradual disarmament, than Treize manuevers him into the path of the Gundam pilots, turning a budding pacifist into a martyr to feed the fires of war. General Septem Organization / United Earth Sphere Alliance The commander of the Alliance's "cosmoarma," or space force, Septem is younger and more aggressive than his fellow Alliance leaders. While Noventa and Ventei speak of peace, Septem lobbies for another crackdown on the rowdy space colonies. His attitude hints at the kind of oppression the space colonists have suffered at the hands of his space forces. As it turns out, his son Gwinter is also an Alliance space force commander. General Ventei Organization / United Earth Sphere Alliance Ventei is the commander of the Alliance's terrestrial forces, comprising the "arma" (army), "marina" (navy), and "aeronautica" (air force). Like Noventa, he is a member of the Alliance's idealistic older generation, and he similarly endorses a course of peaceful coexistence with the space colonies. And like Noventa, Ventei becomes a martyr through Treize's manipulations. Otto Organization / OZ Rank / Knight Zechs's loyal underling, Otto accompanies the Lightning Baron throughout his early adventures. When Zechs is laid low after a stressful test flight in the overpowered prototype mobile suit Tallgeese, Otto takes over as pilot and singlehandedly captures the Alliance garrison in Zechs's Sanc Kingdom homeland, though it costs him his own life. As his dying cry of "Long live King Zechs!" attests, Otto was one of the few OZ members aware of the masked ace's true identity. Tubarov Organization / OZ OZ's chief scientist, Tubarov sees war as merely an opportunity to test new weapons. As the developer of the Romefeller Foundation's mobile doll technology, Tubarov takes great pride in having created unmanned mobile suits governed by artificial intelligence and mechanically loyal to their controlling authority. When OZ splits into factions due to the controversy over Tubarov's creations, he forcibly relieves Lady Une of her duties as commander of OZ's lunar base. Tubarov subsequently begins construction of the immense mobile battleship Libra, with unforeseen and personally disastrous consequences. Nichol Organization / OZ This OZ member serves as Lady Une's aide during OZ's space initiative, acting as second in command of the mobile base Barge and OZ's lunar base. In fact he is a spy for the Romefeller Foundation, who seeks to subvert Lady Une's orders and ultimately betrays her to his true masters. In his last appearance, however, he appears to have repented, returning his former mistress to Treize's hands on the eve of the final battle. Trant Clark Organization / OZ An OZ technical officer who adheres to the Romefeller faction after the organization splits into rival camps. When the Romefeller faction takes over OZ's lunar base, Trant serves as Tubarov's aide, and becomes fascinated by the mysterious control system of the captured Wing Gundam Zero. His obsession leads him to extreme measures as he strives to unlock the Zero System's secrets, in defiance of Tubarov's orders. Duke Dermail Organization / Romefeller Foundation The aristocratic leader of the Romefeller Foundation, this dandified duke happens to be Treize's uncle, and succeeds Treize's grandfather as head of the powerful industrial combine. In contrast to Treize's lofty philosophical goals, Dermail is concerned only with money and power - the one obtained by peddling arms to first the Alliance and then the liberated space colonies, and the other accomplished by sponsoring OZ's coup. Dermail happily deploys armies of unmanned mobile dolls to mop up Alliance resistance, and pressures Treize to resign as leader of OZ when he objects to the automation of his glorious war. When OZ forces rebel out of loyalty to their deposed leader, Dermail doesn't hesitate to turn his robot legions against them as well. His only motivations are his boundless greed and his lust for power. Marquise Weridge Organization / Romefeller Foundation A member of the Romefeller Foundation, Weridge is a well-intentioned aristocrat who quietly opposes Duke Dermail's plans of conquest. He protects Relena when she attempts to avenge her father's death, and he later supports her proposed new direction for the Romefeller Foundation. But Weridge, and the rest of the Foundation's wishy-washy executive caste, have limits to their moral strength; when the going gets tough, they withdraw their support from Relena in favor of a stronger and more charismatic leader. Weridge is in fact related to the Darlian family, and is officially Relena's grandfather. He is among the handful of people aware of her true identity - when they meet early in the story, he remarks on Relena's resemblance to her real mother, Katerina. Inspector Acht Organization / Romefeller Foundation An agent who is assigned to investigate Zechs when the masked ace's curious activities draw the attention of the Romefeller Foundation. Though he's not much to look at, the ugly Acht succeeds in his mission, discovering that Zechs has rebuilt the self-destructed Wing Gundam in order to stage a rematch with Heero. The inspector doesn't live to brag about his accomplishment, though; while pursuing Zechs's transport across the Antarctic tundra, Acht meets his end at the hands of Trowa's Gundam Heavyarms and its patented triple-spin knife attack. Quinze Organization / White Fang This gaunt schemer is a longtime organizer of space colony resistance, a former associate of the martyred colony leader Heero Yuy who has forsaken pacifism in favor of violent rebellion. Quinze was the mastermind of Operation Meteor, the resistance plot that sent the five Gundam pilots to Earth, though he accuses Doctor J and his fellow scientists of changing his orders as they were relayed to the pilots themselves. Later in the story Quinze takes matters into his own hands, organizing a resistance army called White Fang to fight for the independence of the space colonies. But before he can rally the colonists, he needs a charismatic figurehead to lead his rebel army... Sedici Organization / White Fang Quinze's top henchman, Sedici infiltrates OZ to recruit his fellow space colonists for the White Fang resistance movement. Eventually he reveals his true colors, and leads rebel OZ members in the Artemis Revolution. In the meantime, Sedici has become an aide to OZ chief scientist Tubarov, charged with overseeing construction of the space battleship Libra - which thus falls right into White Fang's hands. |
