| Event 5- Capture the Flag | ||||||
| I assume most of you are familiar with this game. For those of you who aren't, here's the details. CTF lets PKs and NPKs compete in a simulated lethal environment. There is a lot to learn about CTF so practise before the event is recommended. * Four teams compete in each round, one for each guild spec. * Five members per team per round. * Team members may only be used in subsequent rounds once all of a guild's members have played once. * In interests of fairness, re-use of team members should be even, ensuring everyone gets roughly the same amount of games. * Depending on the number of players that show up, there will either be three or five rounds. * Rounds will be 20 minutes each. Start Location: Beezing monastery. From Ankh-Morpork, leave via the southwest gate and follow the road, the second major junction (with a southeast exit) should have the monastery located on it. There may be portals open from various guilds or other areas, so ask around before walking. Notes Not a lot of rules to post, it is a coded game. However, there are a few guidelines: * It may be wise to Vault valuable items before playing, as the CTF game has been known to make player's inventories vanish. *No player may enter the arena with magical shielding or religious protection. Any protection must be removed before entering. I'm sure there will be a lot of willing people to help get rid of it ;) * This is a non-lethal event. NPKs and PKs alike can compete, and there's no need to worry about skill levels. Low level NPKs can compete and do very well if they have experience in the game. The more the merrier. * I will be making a Spectator's team to view over the game and commentate over the talker. If anyone that doesn't want to play but would like to watch, contact me. * This website by Elanor is very helpful if you're not familiar with CTF. Tips: * A talker would be very useful but isn't absolutely necessary. * Practice makes perfect. Organise games between friends and play a few games. Refer the CTF club, who should be able to give you more hints and tips, and maybe help round up a few players for a game. Scoring: Five points to the winning team of each round Two points to second place of each round |
