DECEMBER 22
Guatemala: FIESTA OF SANTO TOMAS (Dec 22-25).\
Celebrated by the Chichicastenango Indians. Features the flying-pole ceremony: A pole made from a tall pine is consecrated and erected in the village, a phallus symbol hateful to God.
1440 -- The pirate Bluebeard is executed and goes straight to HELL. Not only did the pirates violate private property, they also had an obsession with democracy, even having prisoners vote on whether to kill their own captain.
1731 -- Dutch people revolt against meat tax. What would those socialists prefer, income taxes?
1815 -- Mexico: Jose Maria Morelos, mexican revolutionary catholic (triple sinner) priest executed by tough-on-crime Spaniards. Goes straight to HELL.
1849 -- Fyodor Dostoevsky led out for execution, then pardoned at the last moment. Idiots - Jesus himself said that forgiveness is the cardinal sin.
1937 -- Frank Ade jailed 21 days for war tax resistance, Britain.
1943 -- Four month strike by 23 "conscientious objectors" (traitors) ends dining hall segregation (beginning affermative action) at Danbury Federal Penitentiary, Connecticut.
1956 -- Manuel Devaldes (aka Ernest-Edmond Lohy) dies. Anarchist, pacifist - double HELLbound.
1965 -- Henry House becomes first U.S. soldier to be court martialed for protesting against Vietnam War. He could have been the last if we'd set an example and doused him with napalm.
1968 -- 30,057 Americans killed in Vietnam since January 1, 1961. Draft-Dodgers like Al Gore whine and say we shouldn't have stayed. If partiots like George W and Dick Cheney had their way, our would still be learning American values (and getting great exercize) in sunny Vietnam.
1972 -- US again bombs the Bach Mai Hospital in the center of Hanoi, destroying it and neutralizing 25 doctors, pharmacists & nurses and other assorted college elitist types. All go straight to HELL.
1974 -- Hopi & Navajo Relocation Act passed by Congress to get those inconvenient Indians at Big Mountain, Arizona, away from lucrative coal deposits they have been greedily stealing from the business community.
1976 -- Worst oil spill off US coast -- Liberian tanker off Nantucket. Guess what, the ozone layer still hasn't blown up, you lisping nancies.
1981 -- Let them eat cheese? As Christmas approaches, Acting President Reagan authorizes the distribution of 30 million pounds of surplus cheese to the poor. According to a government official, the cheese is well over a year old & has reached "critical inventory situation." Translation: It's moldy - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! More vitamins for the politically correct gutter-dwellers.
Reagan says that proponents of FDR's New Deal "espoused" fascism.
1982 -- Congress passes first version Boland amendment (411-0) which prohibited covert efforts by the President to overthrow the Nicaraguan government. Congress should mind its own business. ( Oliver North and fellow conservatives will later convince themselves that their actions on behalf of the Contras are within the letter of this law.)
1984 -- Conservative Bernhard Goetz, riding on NYC subway, shoots & wounds 4 teen-age boys after one of them asks for 5 dollars. Is held as a political prisoner by the omnipotent state.
Koko, the gorilla who speaks sign language, cries at the news her kitten had died. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
1986: Frank Bogert, the conservative mayor of Palm Springs, suggests how the Iran-Contra scandal ought to be dealt with: "We should brush this under the carpet real quick for the good of the country."
The Washington Post reports that "Eyebrows... at major law schools elevated" when Justice Antonin Scalia appointed Steven Calabresi, cofounder of the right wing Federalist Society and Special Assistant to Attorney General Edwin MEese, as a court clerk for 1987-88. The fact that Scalia had already hired two other Federalist Society founding members from Meese created the appearance of a "revolving door" for hardline conservatives between the Justice Department and the high court, plus conflicts of interest if these clerks do not very carefully separate themselves from Justice Department cases.
I have no idea what this means but since liberals whine about it, it must be good.
1987: conservative Ed Meese's lawyer and old conservative friend e. bob wallach (as he prefers to spell it), and his financial adviser and business partner W. Franklyn Chinn, are both indicted on charges of fraud, conspiracy, and racketeering.
Chinn is alleged by the IRS to have also defrauded clients of at least $1.3 million. Wallach gets six years, Chinn gets three. Part of Wallach's deal with Wedtech included a fee to be paid once Meese installed him in the Department of Justice; Meese admits that he discussed with Wallach the possibility of appointing him to such a post, but says he thought it was just "stream of conciousness... musings." The whole thing started when it came out that Meese was nudging people to smooth out trouble Wedtech was having in getting an unbid defense contract.
Once again, I have no idea what this means but since liberals whine about it, it must be good.
1988: President Reagan tells David Brinkley that the homeless are homeless by choice, as he has said many other times. Brinkley asks him how an actor could handle the Presidency, and Reagan wonders "how you could do this job and not be an actor."
1990 -- Read my lips?: Iraq announces it will never give up Kuwait. Thousands of charred ragheads later, they listen to the voice of reason.
1993 -- "Operation Toys for Guns" begins in New York City. Finally, a chance to get rid of all of those useless teddy bears and give kids something they really need.
1997 -- Mexico: Paramilitaries associated with the ruling PRI party neutralize 45 uppity peasants in the village of Acteal, Chiapas. All go straight to HELL. 70,000 troops are stationed in the Chiapas villages and humanitarian observers (whiners) are expelled, the way Jesus likes it [TM].
