April 2003:
Wildside US Champion
For more than 10 years Rick Michaels has been entertaining the fans of the southeast. Rick has traveled the country wrestling with his home base being in north Georgia. Rick gained a respected reputation as one of the best wrestlers to never receive a break. He has held numerous singles titles and the NWA world tag titles 4 times with David Young as Bad Attitude. Rick was well on his way to achieving the national spotlight in the past couple of years before a career ending injury sidelined him for a year. Before the injury Rick had numerous dark matches for WWE and numerous spots for WCW. Rick was just starting to receive some pay-per-view time on TNA tagging with Chris Michaels before the injury. It seemed that Rick was done with wrestling as he was confined to a walker for months unable to walk on his own. Rick overcame the injury and made a miraculous came back to the ring. Rick returned to Wildside and also wrestled for NAWA. Rick has dominated the last month as the Wildside US champ and has managed to hold onto the belt, which is showcased every Friday night at the Wildside arena. Rick also finally got the BIG break that everyone wants, he signed a WWE contract. BE it managing, commentating, wrestling, or working the back stage making ring attire, everyone's goal in Indy wrestling is to get signed to WWE. Rick's contract states that he can continue to compete in Indy shows, so Rick has the best of both worlds. Rick Michaels, Wildside US Champ, WWE contracted employee, GW.TK's Wrestler of the month. Congratulations Rick.
